LAURA BOROS TOMCO

Just celebrated our 40th wedding anniversary--the first day of summer. Both of us went to Bowling Green State University. He was in business and I was in secondary education. I did teach at Lumen Cordium High School and then left to work on an International Agribusiness trade journal--wrote about one-third of it.
Went home to raise children and free lance my poetry and was published. Went back to teaching and then left again to join a Financial Service firm--fell in love with the market and financial planning and stayed with my company since 1988.
I finished the Certified Financial Planning education requirements and will sit for the Boards in November. Was named Five Star Wealth Manager in 2013 and 2014 in Cleveland Magazine. Took up Shaolin Kung Fu and Tai Chi, Yang style last year. Going for my fifth belt in Tai Chi in August.

Back then I was all about teaching. I was pretty shy and really into my writing.
I was in the choir and worked at Sears hoping to go to college as soon as I could.
I did go to BGSU and was a Resident Adviser...was on the Executive Board for Women Students. Met my husband Alan and life has been always bearable as long as we have been together...we had two children and got to travel to Italy together on our 25th anniversary. All four of us went to Norway and drove all over the country since the girls believed they were once Vikings (we are all imaginative). Went to Iceland with my youngest in 2008 and came back to the States to spend the next six years dealing with the market mess and recovery.
In school I spent a lot of time dreaming about the world and seeing it and I think I have a good start on fulfilling that school girl dream.
