In 1973 I graduated from Mount Union College with a bachelors degree in Elementary Education. In 1993, I earned my graduate degree from Walsh University. I taught First Grade for 26 years and 8 years in Kindergarten in the Alliance City Schools in Alliance, Ohio.
I retired in June, 2008!! In August of 2008 I flew to Japan to visit my son who was teaching English in Suzuka. It was great to have a personal tour guide who could speak Japanese! Arriving in the airport, I was the only blonde...I really stood out as a foreigner!! Some children came up to me and practiced their English to talk to me!
My husband, Mike Sands, passed away in March of 2017 after we were married for almost 43 years. I have been keeping myself busy by helping out at my church, going to Bible Studies and taking exercise classes such as Silver Sneakers (for old people) ha ha, water aerobics, yoga and my favorite class.. Zumba!
