Brian, My husband, A.P., had a teacher in junior high who would twist ears. Once A.P. had frostbitten the top of his ear and it had scabbed over. He acted up in class (normal behavior for him). The teacher grabbed and twisted the frostbitten ear and blood went everywhere, including all over the teacher's white shirt. A.P., taking advantage of the situation, screamed bloody murder. As far as he knows that teacher never touched another ear.

Beth, I am still hoping to be at the Chesterland Tavern on Friday evening, but it depends on the drive from Chicago. I keep forgetting about time zones when I try to calculate times. About what times are people thinking of being there?
So I was thinking that it was Mr. Hill who yelled. I do not remember the incident and may not have been at school that day since I did not attend school in the mornings of the second semester of my senior year. It wouldn't have surprised me if it had been Mr. Hill. He was not my favorite teacher.
I have always struggled with writing. (My advisor in grad school, after reading the first draft of my thesis said that I wrote as though English was my second language. The first thing that the committee for my oral comprehensive exam said was that I couldn't spell.)
In Senior English, I would try my best to write essays, especially during exams. They would come back with a C or D grade and a comment "Poorly written." I KNEW that they were poorly written. I couldn't figure out how to improve them. It wasn't until Freshman English in college with a professor who had our peers review our papers and then he reviewed them, do I finally understand how to improve my writing.

I remember Jocelyn. She was very beautiful. We were friends at Memorial. I thought I had heard that she died tragically many years ago.

Julie, May my daughter, Katelyn, who will be with me, participate in the meet and greet with the students at Brush? She is a Certified Medical Illustrator (CMI). Though it is a fascinating career, it is one that few people even know exists. She was in high school when I told her about it. She ran with the idea and discovered that it fit well with her combined interests in art, biology, and medicine. High school students with similar interests might like to hear about it.
Where are people from out of town staying for the reunion? My daughter and I will be at the Red Roof Inn in Mentor.
