I graduated from MS University for Women 1977 with a BFA in painting and drawing. In 1979 I graduated from Northern Illinois University (about 50 miles west of Chicago) with a Master of Fine Arts degree (painting, drawing and sculpture). In graduate school I married a fellow art student, Warren Scott and after graduation we moved to Asheville, NC. We owned an art gallery called Ampersand in Asheville and we continued our art work. Art has always made my heart sing but failed to give purpose to my life. While in N.C. I transitioned into the health care field. Our marriage end after 13 years on a positive note and I moved to Gainesville, FL to take a promotion to Regional Administrator with a home health company. Later I relocated to Greensboro, N.C., Cincinnati, OH, Greensboro, N.C. and Dayton, OH and six year ago I settled down in Fairborn, OH (just outside of Dayton). For the last 19 years I have worked in the home health & hospice. This makes my heart sing and gives purpose to my life. It also helped me to be an excellent resource and advocate for my niece Sherry Butler, who was diagnosised with colon cancer on the day Taylor was born. The doctors gave her less than a year to live. She was a true fighter and made it just 8 days short of six years. Neither Bill (husband #2) nor I have have biological children. Bill, Taylor and I have come together to form a much better family than I could have hoped for. Bill's last name is Bohrer. We have been married six years, but after starting out with Fulgham, I just could not give up the easy name of Scott. We are a family with three last names.
When our school burned it was a life changing event for many of us. On the positive side, with the fire I lost my shyness and found my voice. I have been blessed to do many of the things I dreamed of while in school there. I have got to travel to far off countries and do work that makes a difference in people's lives.
