My husband (Lanier graduate) & I moved back to Macon at the end of 1999. In his growing-up days, & at Lanier, he was known as "Wayne". We married when he was starting his junior year at Georgia Tech. For his military service and 28-year career, we met some terrific folks living in 11 different places. A merger of Allen's company allowed an early retirement for him from that good association & the move here where we could be with my dad.
We are richly blessed with our first-born, wonderful daughter, Sheri, who lives in Birmingham, and great son, Matt, who lives with his precious family---wife, Lauren; daughter,Taylor Kate; & son, Luke, in Marietta. The joys of grandparenting are even more bountiful than all we had heard or imagined!
Both Allen & I have been involved in the outstanding, interdenominational, international Bible Study Fellowship the last five places we have lived and are still amazed at its depth and applications for life as part of the Macon classes! Visit bsfinternational.org to learn more and see class cities for simply attending an intro class. We very actively are involved in our good church, Wesleyan Drive Baptist. Our eyes were opened even more to how big God is and how we limit His involvement in our lives when we went on our church's 13-member mission trip to Orphanage Emmanuel in Honduras in May, 2011! Go to their website (www.orphanagaeemmanuel.com) for a glimpse of this amazing ministry.
Allen is currently part owner of House of Metal Roofs & does financial & retirement planning for teachers. I have worked in sales and decorating but mostly have done quite a variety of volunteer positions. I have loved most being Allen's wife, mother to our children, and now grandmothering! l try to be helpful in Allen's businesses, and one of the big Macon volunteer jobs I do is coordinating its National Day of Prayer (always the first Thursday of May).
