Wesley Patton

Graduated from Gordon Military College with an A.A. degree in prelaw, and the University of West Georgia with a B.A. in Political Science; then worked on my Master of Theology degree (ThM) at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary, where I obtained my Private Pilot's license at New Orleans Lakefront Airport. I was a Federal employee for 41 years with the Department of Defense (19 with the U.S. Army, 22 with the U.S. Air Force). Served 10-year assignment in Europe, 1984-1993, with an Armored Cavalry unit, in various capacities, Substance Abuse & Family Counselor; Director of Army Community Service (ACS), Amberg, Germany, ACS Officer in Neu-Ulm, Germany, then Chief of ACS in Bremerhaven, Germany. Returned stateside in 1993, after the Berlin wall came down, and got picked up by Robins Air Force Base, where I worked as a Program Manager, then Action Officer at Headquarters, Air Force Reserve Command. Then, as a Counselor at the Airman and Family Readiness Center. Retired in 2017, and started working with the Emergency Management Agency, GEMA & FEMA to present day. I'm a private pilot, SCUBA diver, FAA licensed HAM radio operator (K4WEU), and am on call for disaster assistance at a local EOC (Emergency Operations Center), supplying alternative communication modes through the Amateur Emergency Radio Service (ARES). Eight years as Secretary, Office Manager, and Chair of Finance Committee with the Bibb County Republican Party, until 2 months ago.

I transferred to Lanier Sr. High for Boys from 2 years at Gordon Military College; being the first 10th grader to be selected to be a member of the Golden Boots Sr. Regimental Drill Team, Commanded by Lee Tanksley the first year, then Sonny Carter the next, who later became a NASA Astronaut, flying two missions on the Space Shuttle. No military service as a service member, but I did serve with the Army, then Air Force, as a Federal employee for 41 years, with 10 of them being in Europe (Germany), during the Cold War.
