I graduated with degree in Accounting from University of GA in 1983 and returned to Macon to begin a career with Merrill Lynch (ML) in financial management. In 1986, I transferred to Atlanta and travelled the US east coast with ML as an operations and project management specialist. In fall of 1989, I transferred to Merrill's Denver Corporate campus and began a career in training. It was there, 1990, that my whole life changed when I met my very best friend, the love of my life - Marc.... imagine moving across the US, into the west.... to meet a good ol' southern boy- a true Georgia gentleman.... how lucky could a Georgia girl get?
I bought a house, continued to travel and train, and Marc's career at Merrill Lynch flourished. I attended University of Colorado at Denver (fall, 1993) and graduated with honors in 1995 with a Masters in Corporate Training and Instructional Design. Afterwards, Marc and I married in September 1996. ... thus, our journey and adventure began!!!! I sold my home, moved into Marc's house, and shortly thereafter, we transferred with Merrill Lynch to Jacksonville FL (1997).
We moved to a beautiful area of Jacksonville and travelled the USA as well as Europe and Asia until Callie was born in May, 2000 (I believe that was the last reunion?). I started a consulting company later that year, designing and developing training solutions for companies such as Winn-Dixie, CSX Railroads, Commerce Bank, and Blue Cross-Blue Shield. I also taught Instructional Design certification classes for University of Northern Florida continuing education department. After our son, Jackson, was born I was convinced to return to full time corporate employment, but still retained my consulting on the side.
I volunteer my time at church, schools, non-profits, and I am a Girl Scout Leader as well as a GS Training Consultant and Leadership Coach. The girls in my troop (since they were kindergartners) are now very ACTIVE rising Juniors....wow, how time flies! Callie continues to be a top cookie seller, having won trips each year- I guess that she takes her last name very seriously! And she gets her dad's business skills--- and my organizational skills! This year she sold over 850 boxes - 700 of those were from walking door to door! She is blond, blue-eyed, tall, smart, a born-manager, and sweet.... yes, I am a bit prejudiced! And oh, so proud to be her mom!
Jackson will start kindergarten in the fall.... just hope our little neighborhood school is ready! He is intrigued by history and science, loves to swim, play army (so did his dad! and that is a tribute to his grandpa!), and is one tough little guy! He is VERY active, has a great sense of humor, and is the sole reason that I believe that Marc and I are starting to gray! He is blond, tanned, and blue-eyed as well (with both Marc and I having green eyes, where do these incredible blue-eyed children come from???). Jackson is truly a loving, charming, polite, incredible little boy - yes, I know that I gush over him too! He has a dream to be a "Navy guy" according to his pre-K graduation video.... this may be partially my fault after I think that I totally became the "cool" mom and made an impression on him when I surprised him with a private look at the chinook helicopters at my office -with my current position, I design engineering training materials for the US Navy.
I am sorry that we did not know about the most recent reunion - we were just a short drive away at Amelia Island and could have popped over. I have enjoyed reviewing the pics. Hope to catch up with many of you soon.... your profiles reveal some exciting times!
