Mary Ellen Romo Espinoza

Got married to a Minister in 1962 and we pastored churches throughout the State. In 1973 we were assigned and decided to accept and go out and venture doing Missionary work and left to Nicaragua Central America. We were caught in the big earth quake in 1973 after being there like 3 months. We were rescued and came back to the States for about a week or so and went back to help our church people during the tragedy. We were then transferred to Honduras for the remainer of the 5 years. We had to come back in 1976 due to the fact that I caught Maleria and was three months pregnant. My husband stayed in Honduras to finish his term of services. Since then we continued to pastor in California. We than decided to move back to Madera to pastor and later he retired and got employment with the Madera Unified School District and has been there for about 24 years. I have 5 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. I retired from the Housing Authority about 5 years ago and continued to work part time for the Madera Unified School District as a Secretary/Administrative Assistant. When not working I run around taking my grand kids too and back from school. I just try to keep busy when not working. I really enjoy working and helping all of my grandchildren. One of them is involved in football at Madera High School and his sister who is a cheer leader at Thomas Jefferson. They keep me busy involved in all their activicties.
