Mary's Obituary

Mrs. Mary Josephine LeGrand Walters, age 71 of Hanover, Indiana, entered this life on October 21, 1953 in Houston, Missouri.  She was the loving daughter of the late John and Wanda Edith Allen LeGrand.  A lifelong resident of Jefferson County, Indiana, she was a 1971 graduate of Madison Consolidated High School.  On September 1, 1995, she was united in marriage to Edward Lee Walters in Bedford, Kentucky.  For 32 years, she operated a sewing machine at Meese Orbitron, retiring in 2008.  Mary Jo was a member of the North Madison Christian Church.  She enjoyed sewing and reading the Bible.   Mary Jo died on Saturday, March 1, 2025, at 7:23 p.m. at the Hosparus Inpatient Unit of Norton Pavillion in Louisville, Kentucky.

Mary Jo will be missed by her loving husband of 30 years, Edward Lee Walters of Hanover, Indiana; her daughter, Amy Josephine Hazelwood Cull of Bedford, Kentucky; her son, Christopher Hazelwood and his wife Rachel of New Castle, Indiana; her godson, Jason Batchelor and his wife, Michelle of Pensacola, Florida; her grandchildren, Alexander "Alex" Keith Hazelwood and Addison "Addi" Josephine Love Cull, Harrison Cull, Evelyn Hazelwood, and Jackson Hazelwood; her sisters, Connie Day and her husband Danny of Madison, Indiana, Peggy LeGrand of Madison, Indiana, Jeanie Sue LeGrand of Charleston, South Carolina, Rose Conway and her husband, Craig Bergeron of Madison, Indiana; her brother, Jack LeGrand and his wife, Shirley of Kent, Indiana, Danny Green of Madison, Indiana; her stepbrothers, Gene Green and his wife, Sara of Hanover, Indiana, Jim Green and his wife, Janet of Columbus, Indiana; her stepsisters, Claris Addleman of Dupont, Indiana, Glenda Falor and her husband, Isaac of Edinburgh, Indiana; her sister-in-law, Martha LeGrand of Hanover, Indiana; several nieces, nephews and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her father, John LeGrand, her mother, Wanda Edith Allen Green, her stepfather, Glenn Green, her son-in-law, Rick Cull, died March 8, 2019, her brother, Johnny Dale LeGrand, died October 10, 2024, her stepsister and stepbrother, Donna Pulliam and Harold Green.
