Diana's Obituary

Mrs. Diana Sue Hess Smith, age 72, of Madison, Indiana, entered this life on July 25, l952 in Cincinnati, Ohio.  She was the loving daughter of the late Edward E. and Margaret Lucille Graves Hess.  She was united in marriage to Michael R. Smith on January 22, 1973 in Hanover, Indiana.  This union was blessed with two sons and one daughter.  She was a housekeeper for several individuals over the years.  Diana was a member of  First Christian Church of Hanover, Indiana. Diana enjoyed her visits with her friends, Missy and Steve Snell.  She enjoyed watching T.V., going shopping, and being with her family. She was anxiously awaiting the birth of her granddaughter, Maily. Diana  died on Wednesday, October 9, 2024, at 1:55 pm at her home in Madison, Indiana.

Diana will be missed by her son, Mark A. Smith and his wife, Baily of Madison, Indiana; her daughter, Heidi K. Kiser Byers and her husband Raymond "R.J." of Madison, Indiana; her grandchildren, Brittany Ann Kiser, Shawn M. Kiser, Keenan Vaughn (Cheyenne), Legend Ray Smith, Brooke Smith, and Braden Smith; her great grandchildren, Kaydence Cope, Anthony Wayne Cope, and Rylee Kiser; her sister in law, Barbara Bush of Madison, Indiana; several nieces, nephews and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her father, Edward E. Hess, her mother, Margaret Lucille Graves Hess, her husband of 47 years, Michael Ray Smith, died January 1, 2020, her brother, Ronnie Hess, her sisters, Patricia Keller and Barbara Collins, her son, Michael Edward Smith, died June 13, 2024.
