Let Us Pause To Honor the Memory of
Mr. Jerry Wayne Youngblood

Mr. Jerry Wayne Youngblood, age 66, of Madison, Indiana entered this life on April 20, 1952 in Madison, Indiana. He was the loving son of the late Robert Allen and Samantha Bolton Youngblood. He was a 1971 graduate of Madison Consolidated High School where he was involved in all aspects of the music programs and the choir. He was inducted into the United States Army on December 10, 1971 in Louisville, Kentucky. He rose to the rate of Specialist Four serving in First Batallion of the 37th Armored Division during the Vietnam Era Veteran. He was honorably discharged on December 2, 1974 at Fort Jackson, South Carolina receiving the National Defense Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. He remained in the Reserves and was discharged on December 9, 1977. On February 17, 1973 Jerry was united in marriage to his high school sweetheart, Cathy Bruther at the Madison Presbyterian Church in downtown Madison. This happy union of 45 years was blessed with a son, Jerry Wayne, II. He worked early in life for Dayton Walther Corporation for several years. In 1976 he began a career with M & T Chemical (later Atafina and Arkema) as a chemical operator retiring in 2001. He was a member of the Kent Christian Church. Jerry was a musician who played the piano with all the passion of his spirit. Jerry died on Tuesday, July 3, 2018, at 11:04 a.m. at the King's Daughters' Health in Madison, Indiana.

A LOVING FAMILY
Jerry will be missed by his loving wife of 45 years, Catherine "Cathy" N. Bruther Youngblood of Madison, Indiana; his loving son, Jerry Wayne "J.W." Youngblood, II and his wife, Amy of Madison, Indiana; his loving granddaughter, Brookelynn Youngblood; his step grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Kameron, and Keyton Hollan; his step great grandchildren, Carsen and Kendall; his brothers, Robert Allen Youngblood of Lexington, Indiana, Ronald Youngblood and his wife, Mary of Lawrence, Indiana, Michael Youngblood and his wife, Barb of Versailles, Indiana; his sisters in laws, Barbara Saleh and her husband, Ismail of Buford, Georgia, Pauline Boldery of Madison, Indiana, Connie Jones and her husband, Johnnie of Shelbyville, Kentucky; his brother in law, Robert Cooper of Madison, Indiana; his aunts, Carolyn Dailey, Madelline Purvis, Marcella Yocum and Pauline Young of all of Madison, Indiana; several nieces, nephews and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Allen Youngblood, his mother, Samantha Bolton Youngblood, his sister, Saundra Youngblood Cooper, and his brother in law, Donald Bruther.

FUNERAL CEREMONY
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, July 7, 2018, at 4:00 p.m., by Bro. Brian Schulz at the Kent Christian Church, 8082 W State Road 256 in Kent, Indiana. Entombment will follow in the Grandview Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, 9306 North US 421 near Madison, Indiana.

VISITATION
Friends may visit Saturday from 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. at the Kent Christian Church, 8082 W State Road 256 in Kent, Indiana.

MILITARY HONORS
A final salute will be conducted by Jefferson Post 9 of the American Legion at the Kent Christian Church at 4:30 p.m. with full honors to follow at the cemetery.
