I enlisted in the USAF in 1973 and was discharged in 1976. I re-enlisted in 1978 and was discharged in 1981. I obtained a BSN from Northwestern State University of Louisiana in 1984 and worked as a Registered Nurse in a Veterans Hospital in Shreveport, Louisiana for two years. After leaving Shreveport, I went to law school at Indiana University in Bloomington. Upon graduation, I went to work for the Public Defender of Indiana in Indianapolis. I retired in 2018 and currently reside on a small farm in Monroe County, Indiana with my partner, Laura, our dogs, Wally and Bobo, our cats, Yoshi and Buff, ten sheep and four goats. I play clarinet/bass clarinet in the Bloomington Community Band and a few smaller ensembles, and I lend my baritone voice to a couple of local choirs. I have three grandchildren, Jonah, Salem and Atlas. I am currently employed at Pappy's Taxi Service.
