Gee, what have I been doing since 1981? In 1985 I graduated from UW-Madison with a B.S. in Agricultural Economics. After that, I moved to Vermont and worked for Vermont Educational Television for two years. In 1988 I moved to Orlando, Florida to work at WMFE-TV/FM (public television/radio) and later the American Diabetes Association/Florida Affiliate. During that time, I earned a Master of Public Administration from the University of Central Florida. In 1996, I moved to Houston to work at HoustonPBS, and in 1997, met my wonderful husband Gene. Gene originally came to Houston from New Jersey for graduate school, and now works at NASA/Johnson Space Center. We were married in 1999. We have three children - Victor (age 10), Bennett (age 8) and Mady (age 5). (Being older parents, we are often mistaken for our children's grandparents, which is rather irritating. ) I gave up working full-time when Bennett was born, and now work part-time as a contract Foundation and Community Relations officer at nearby University of Houston-Clear Lake. We live in a great neighborhood, and I am active in my community. During my precious free time, I exercise (because I have to, not because I love it), read, and drink wine with my girlfriends!
