I went to UW-Oshkosh, where I graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree, in Speech Communications. I worked as a Senior Legislative Editor at the State of Wisconsin Legislative Reference Bureau for 22 years. I edited the governor's state budget, executive vetoes, and all proposed legislation before it is enacted as Acts and becomes part of the Wisconsin Statutes. Now I am working as a Grant Specialist at the Higher Educational Aids Board, giving students grants and scholarships to go to College. Among other grant programs, I currently manage the Wisconsin Grant- Private Non-Profit Schools, Minority Undergraduate Retention Grant and the Minority Teacher Loan forgiveness program, to help minority students get funding for their education.
I got married at Olbrich Gardens in 2000 to my hubby, Chris, who is an 7th grade math teacher at Cherokee Middle School here in Madison. He invented an educational board game that was published by Learning Resources, Inc., called "Angleside School Adventure" (google it to check it out!).
In 2005, I earned my Master's degree in Business Administration at Edgewood College. Two weeks after graduating with my MBA, I had my son, Caleb (I was very pregnant when I waddled down the graduation stage at Edgewood!), who is going to school at Hamilton (formerly Van Hise, where I went to middle school!) now and he is a ton of fun, a 2nd degree black belt in karate, and a basketball player!
