35 years as reporter & newspaper editor in Florida. Editor of Clearwater (Florida) Sun, which won several awards for its coverage of the Church (their word) of Scientology and the collapse of the Skyway Bridge, which connected St. Petersburg to Sarasota.

12 years trying to start a public relations business; major accomplishment was staying out of bankruptcy; secondary accomplishment was getting a client written up in Wall Street Journal.

Public Information Officer for Sixth Judicial Circuit Court of Florida from 2002 until retirement in 2014. Was court's media contact/spokesperson for Terri Schiavo case and most recently all of the stuff involving the family of Terry Bollea (AKA Hulk Hogan).

Army service included graaduation from Officer Candidate School & "Spy School" (nickname for Military Intelligence training); overseas assignment in Korea.

Have met three presidents (even had dinner with Carter); Named a Kentucky Colonel in 1963; Refereed high school basketball for more than 30 years (including girls' state semifinal game in 1994).

Except for replacement of both knees, successful treatment for prostate cancer & removal of cataracts, health is excellent.

For the past five years, I have been part of a study group in development of a drug to prevent Alzheimer’s disease. I don’t have Alzheimer’s, and I volunteered for the international study as a community service. Once a month, I get an infusion, and my cognitive memory is tested every three months.

My main hobby is horse racing, something that began to develop the first time my father took me to Dade (now Ellis) Park in Henderson.
