Up too late again last nite, Donna!? :)

Jodi Trisciani (Goudreau)

Hey there Donna!

Let's work on our mutual friends, Ken Piecuch and Beth Schunemann (a.k.a. Mrs. Dave Laferierre) to come to the reunion! Also, say "hello" to my friends there....

08/13/09 12:31 AM #419

Donna Keenan (Grady)

Beth is Dave's wife? I didn't know that! He works for the MTA now, so I don't see him anymore. I have tried and tried to work on Ken (he is retired but is a reserve), but he said he was a geek and is too afraid no one will know him. He is a buff dude now! With a hot wife - but he still won't go. Same for Lorraine Martel.

Yes Rob..you're killing me...especially when the phone rang!

Linda Lemay (Wojceshonek)

Hey Donna. I know how they feel about people not knowing them. I'm feeling that too. Some of us just went through high school just blending in. Reading all these posts just reminds me of all my high school insecurities.
By the way, I went to grammer school with Lorraine Martel. I actually was looking forward to the reunion but have since learned I'm working that entire weekend. It all sounds like a good time though. Have fun.

In response to Linda Lemay, a lot of us went thru high school the same way. Carol Francis is coming from Florida and has the same feeling. She and I are hooking up and going together. Will we just blend in at the reunion also? It doesn't matter, we will all have fun. Sorry to hear you won't be there Linda, we'll be thinking of you.

Linda Lemay (Wojceshonek)

Thanks Deb. I'm thinking if there is something going on Sunday evening I'd be able to do that as I have Mondays off. I'm also thinking that more people think they don't fit in than that do. lol. Insecurities! lol. They are all coming back to me.

Hey debra , remember me. I feel the same way I kinda just kept to myself in school, I bet half of the people here don't remember me at all? I am also coming from florida so make sure melissa you check out the tan!!

Apple picking? Mack's Apple Orchard in Londonderry would be perfect for that. The Yard is probably the best around here for brunch (It's a buffet). Burgers and beers for Billy's? I'll check for reserving the back for the "Forum Crew". For anyone coming from out of town I would encourage a rowdy evening of Manch-Vegas enthusiastic hockey at the Verizon. The Back Room can be a rig, but I can press a few employees for some extra special circumstances. I have a few connections at the Yard (Robin Lee's brother is the Restuarant mananger there and we are friends). Oh yeah, Larry, I fell asleep in the sun at York Beach and woke up two days later. My head is peeling under my hair line. I didn't realize that after 45, I would have to use suncreen like a hair gel to protect my scalp. I look like I'm wearing a hair net that's falling apart.

Joan, to answer your question, I don't know? She obiviously needs extensive vision attention (I told her my insurance doesn't cover vision. I lied). She is also taking me to Ireland for my (50th?). I love the history over there as well and look forward to seeing some of it. This should be a good time.

Since no one has posted I will be the first. Margo and I watched my daughter run her first 5K (very proud Mama). We got there a little early so I gave her a tour of the PD and she met the Chief as he was running in the race also! The race was great except for the woman who puked in front of us. Then to PJ O'Sullivans to meet with Karen, Steve, Carol, and eventually Joe. He had to squeeze us into his busy schedule. A great time was had by all. Everyone is beautiful. I asked Joe where his red hair was..and then I said...Oh wait..I have it (my new color) LOL!

As I am reading the forum some of you seems to feel uncomfortable and I believe the word insecure.

OK we are now almost all 50 years old and we are the class of 79 the one thing that will hold us all together for the rest of our lives. Yes high school was a long time ago and I will risk to say that perhaps at times we didn't treat each other as nicely as we would have liked.
However here we are 30 years later all grown up adults.
I bet when we all get together the people you least thought you would like being around in high school are really great today. I look at it as getting to know each other again. So if anyone is insecure please try not to let this be a barrier for you to come to the reunion. No matter what we will have a great time. I personally had a life threatening event two years ago and I look at everything now just a little differently. I am glad to be here and look foward to seeing old friends and talking about how we got to where we are. Looking at the profiles I would say that everyone has done well.
Lets have fun.
Cathy

OK, yes I was late. How often was I on time in HS. We had a great. Lots of laughs. Folks we need to do this a few more times... reunion prep! But alas, I was tardy. Which could have canceled my MP subscription.

Carol Erlman (Phillips)

I agree that we should get together more often informally. Thursday night was fun and it was great seeing all of you! You all look terrific! Maybe next year we can form an MMHS1979 group for the CIGNA 5K race and go out afterward!

Margo Ceplinskas (Pinc)

Donna, I enjoyed watching your daughter do so well in her first 5K and meeting your co-workers while touring the Police Station. It was great catching up with you, Carol, Steve, Karen and Joe. The gathering was a nice prelude to the class reunion this fall. Carol, I like the idea of a '79 MMHS Cigna team. Please keep me posted, and if it coincides with a visit to New England, I may be able to participate.

OK Joe...no detention this time! As far as me running a 5K..ummm no. I decided if I ever put a dating ad out it is going to say "Enjoys short walks to the refrigerator"

I've been catching up on the posts after being away with Steve and our combined children and their friends at the Lake. I know what all of you are talking about the "popularity" issues and insecurities. I never "belonged" to any one group - kind of flitted between them all, finding friends wherever I could!

The thing I find wonderful is that the "forum people" come from ALL the groups, and that feeling insecure shouldn't matter any more. We're who we are. We've all built our lives, families, careers - and we ALL should be proud of that. We're a little greyer (or a lot, Joe!) or heavily dyed (ME!), a little heavier or lighter (Carol, you wretch!), a little damaged (seems like all of us! I believe it's called LIFE!) but still smiling and going strong.

Everyone should go to this reunion - from what I've seen and heard so far, it is going to be awesome. Steve and I had a blast getting together with Joe, Margo, Donna and Carol the other night! If that was any indication of the time we're going to have, I'M going to take the week off too, Donna! I'm going to need it. I haven't laughed so much in years!

And, although we all KNEW each other, we didn't necessarily all "hang" together in HS - we had classes together, sports or clubs together, etc. In other words, we still have things in common and enjoyed finding out how each got to where we are today.

So enough said!! Everyone come to the reunion, even if you weren't the most popular kid in school! I know I wasn't - people barely remember me except my closest friends! But here is a pool of people ready to accept you for who you are, not who you WERE! Come enjoy it!
