I believe I told her about the reunion site in my voice mail but I’m not certain. Barb is one of my "can't wait to sees" so I hope she shows. I exchanged email with her baby brother (Who I hadn't seen since he was 5.)while I was trying to track her down. He did not have her email address but I have her cell number. I'll try her today after church. Anne, Dang! Tim won. (Why do I bother? He always wins.) Thank dog he doesn't gloat. (I'll admit it, I'm a gloater.)

Here's the good news...she will be in town next weekend but has already committed to an engagement party (which is why she is in town.) It is unlikely that she will be at the reunion, however she will try to make the brunch,Sunday. I’ve encouraged her to log onto this site. Wahoo!!!

10/04/09 09:26 PM #1202     Bill Burke Yo Yo Yo! I am back after another minor setback. It appears I have the heart rate of a marathon runner, although my ass is parked on the couch constantly. A bit confusing but I will get more answers at the surgeons office on Monday morning. Hey at least it is beating. Pain is getting better, nasty scar is healing, hair is still falling out, but i am down 20 lbs so I won't complain. Glad to hear Maura is out of hot water I have been praying for her in my spare time. (i have alot) I hope to make an appearance Saturday. I don't plan on getting hammered but I am told by some my dry humor is just as good sober. Adios

10/04/09 10:13 PM #1203     Pam Taber Great news! Maura was moved to a regular medical floor today!!!! Having the lining on her spica cast re-done tomorrow and once she is eating by mouth as she was pre-op we will be discharged home!! What a difference a week makes!! Thank you for all of your heartwarming comments and you can all adopt Maura as your own!! She truly is a very special little girl in more ways than one! Bill sorry to hear of your set back but glad to hear you are on the mend. As boring as it may be you need to take it easy!!! I should hook you up with my little Maura and the two of you can recouperate together!! I am truly hoping to make it to the reunion and brunch on Sun. but it all depends upon when Maura is discharged home and if I can find a adult to help watch her along with my 16 y.o. daughter for the night. I asked my ex but he already has plans for the 10'th. We will keep you posted and now that she is in a regular room we can have our cell phones on so please feel free to call. The days get long in here!! There truly is no place like home!!

He and I have exchanged emails over the last few months. Nothing has changed, he’s still fabulous. Billy Burke, as grouchy as ever (thank dog) I KNOW you will be fine. First sign of sweetness and I’m calling 911. Maura baby, nice way to show that crusader spirit! And finally let me make this appeal. Once every ten years ya’ll need to get out of dodge. Live a little. Drive over the border and go to a hip restaurant to prove that you still have it. That’s all I’m saying. Hamlet awaits!

Hire a Nurse for the night and I'm sure this group will all pitch in to pay. I think I speak for everyone when I say we feel we have lived through this ordeal with you in some way. I remember the "thump" feeling I got in the pit of my stomach when I read Kevin's email that Maura had coded, and have looked for updates each time I've signed on. We need to give you a hug in person, so you find the person, I'll guarantee the cost will be covered. Really. Kathy R.- am working on the drink menu tonight, will try to post tonight or tomorrow. Ev - will make a Virgin something for the DDs. Billy - Remember, they make non-alchoholic beer! Rest up now so you can enjoy the reunion. Linda - you will be missed but I suppose someone has to be the responsible one! Donna - Oh, the things we got away with when we were young! Glenn - I think I'll charge people $5.00 to have their photo taken with Blow Up Glenn to fund Pam's night out. Melissa - Shouldn't we be done school by now?

Won't be able to make it but would love to do the brunch thing on Sunday. Someone please let me know more details about it. I started reading a bit from people...but realized that there are so many to read...I need to start from the beggining. I'm soooo sorry I'm going to miss most of you. 10/05/09 06:24 PM #1213     Pam Taber Maura ate about 2 oz. of pureed food today and has taken sips of thickened apple juice! We have a long way to go but hopefully she'll start increasing her appetite soon!! She was quite proud of the fact she managed to pull out her IV and NJ tube today!! Unfortunately another IV needed to be started as she has two more days of IV antibiotics!! If her appetitite doesn't improve soon we will need to look at that too to have her get the calories she needs! She is definitely getting better though! Melissa and Donna thank you for your phone calls this afternoon! It helps to break up the day! Maura's Dad is going home tonight and back to work tomorrow so my work will increase taking care of her but at least I will have the help of the nurses and LNA's while she is here! Keep the positive thoughts and prayers coming that we are out of here soon!! I could use a good stiff drink right about now!! LOL

Had a Dirty Apple tonight and boy did it work! Tequila, apple pucker and a splash of cranberry. Not something I need on a regular basis! Vodka being my natural pleasure (probably because I am Polish), I prefer a Grey Goose pomegranate martini, not too sweet. Otherwise a vodka press, but that varies depending on the part of the country you are ordering--my preference is a generous portion of Grey Goose with equal parts tonic water and club soda with a lime. Brian is much easier to please--small batch bourbon, or a Makers Mark or Knob Creek on the rocks, and is always happy with Gentleman Jack or just plain old JD. He is also my DD, so he can only indulge during cocktail hour. Barb, as I said earlier today, CRASH Saturday night. Brunch is okay, but the night before will be so much better! Pam, delighted with Maura's progress. We have lots of friends at Childrens, and I am sure they have all been hovering and checking in unannounced. Linda, you have to get out early Saturday night and CRASH!!! We'll make sure you behave and leave early enough to get to work Sunday AM. Anne and Crew, you all have done a fantastic job of getting everyone together, and with this forum, getting us past our angst and reconnecting. Jackie & Louise, looking forward to catching up Saturday! Thank you for coming! Melissa, you are my inspiration. Looking forward to seeing you and meeting Tim Friday night.
