Went to the University of Rochester to become anything but and engineer. Graduated as a Chemical Engineer. . .so much for planning. Landed a job between sophomore and junior years with IBM in Endicott, NY. Turned out to be a pretty good gig so went back after graduation. Almost everyone in Endicott worked for IBM which is where I met my husband, Dion, who is a mechanical engineer, graduated from University of Notre Dame. We weren't long for that town, the day we got back from our honeymoon IBM (I've Been Moved) relocated us down the the Washington, DC area. We thought that we would be out of there in no time but we are both still with IBM (26 years strong) and 23 of it in DC!
We are both in sales working with Public Sector customers. Lots of interesting work and used to take most of our time.
Now, we have two boys who play in the select travel baseball leagues. This pretty much takes up all of our weekends. Dillon currently 16 and a junior in high school, plays for his high school team as well as an all-star team and was selected as an All Conference, 3rd team player as a sophomore. Peter, 14 and an 8th grader, plays on a different travel team which makes weekend logistics a little complicated. We spend most weekends from March through November (except for a couple weeks in August) on baseball fields in the Mid-Atlantic area. They enjoy it and as a result so do we.
