We lost Diane in a tragic car accident the week of Thanksgiving. I will never forget her radiant smile. She was engaged and had her whole life ahead of her. Diane was one of those people about whom you could truly say was beautiful inside and out. We miss you, Diane!
Diane was survived by her sisters Denise and Lise, her brother David and her mom and dad, Lorraine and Bertrand Metivier.

I did not personally know Diane, but I do remember that tragedy as if it happened yesterday.Linda Lemay (Wojceshonek)
I had known Diane since grammer school. What a tragedy. I remember it all so well. She is missed.Jo-Ann Gaynor
Diane is one that will live in my heart forever. Over the school years we had our ups and downs, but I could always count on her. She is one that has left her mark on my life and I will always remember her beautiful smile. My thougths and prayers are always with her and her family. She was and will forever be remembered.Shawn Harressey

They sold her a dream of a prosperous life
They said that she'd marry and make a good wife
They said "To be happy is all there's to be"
but how quickly those visions can flee.
Twenty years old, such a short time to live
for someone as she who had so much to give.
But no one remembered truly has gone,
for in many a memory her spirit lives on.
And when nobody's left to remember her name,
it won't matter, we'll all be together again.
An abundance of love in a world full of hate.
Yet even the lucky must deal with fate.
But when spinning the wheel determines the price,
or a cut of the cards, a roll of the dice?
How crule and unfair to those who have lost
when a life such as hers was the cost.
And a vacant chair at the table seems strange.
It hurts to go on as though nothing has changed.
But for all those who find that it's hard to hold on
to sweet memories and dreams when the nighttime has gone.
Or who can't quite remember the laugh of a friend
though in earnest have tried to time and again.
Let me tell you that love is the soul's greatest wealth.
And it is up to each person to give of themself.
If the riches of heaven are thus earned by each man,
then the Crown Jewels of Heaven belong to Dianne !

Sorry to say, but we lost Diane two years after we gradutated...and just a couple of years before our 5th Reunion. She was 20 when she died (like Shawn's awesome tribute/poem indicated - "way too short a life to live for someone as she who had so much to give,") and while yes, it was at Thanksgiving it was November 25th (Wednesday night before Thanksgiving ... remember how the Salty Dog and The 28 were our places to hang out ... ) Anyhow, she turned 20 in September of 1981 and in just a few short months from then ... she was gone. Also, she was not engaged ... although that was probably on the horizon for her at Christmas time, Jack had not yet proposed to her ... I lived with her memory on my license plate for more than 20 years, until my new boyfriend (now husband) got tired of explaining what it meant to people who didn't know us then ... REECE lives on in memory, just as Diane's beautiful smile and perfect model-like persona does in each of our thoughts each day. There were days when I was intensely jealous of her beauty and then now so many more days where I've missed it.With wonderment of what would have been....
