Doug Thurber, 48, a lifelong resident of Manchester, died Friday, Oct. 30, 2009, at home.

He was born May 9, 1961 to Allen and Elinor (Cheney) Thurber.

He graduated from Manchester Memorial High School in 1979. He was most recently employed by Favorite Foods.

Douglas enjoyed the outdoors and sports, but most importantly, his family and close friends. He will be remembered as a caring friend, a loving brother, son and a truly amazing father.

In addition to his parents of Manchester, surviving family members include his daughter, Nicole Thurber of Manchester; one sister, Cindy Pratte of Manchester; three brothers, Scott of Manchester, Sgt. Major USMC William of San Diego and Steven of Framingham, Mass.; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

He will be extremely missed by the many people that he touched in his too short time on this earth.
