Shawn Sedlacek is a lifestyle marketing expert and entrepreneur. As the founder, CEO, and President of VOX Entertainment, a leading production and marketing company , Shawn has spent decades creating and executing initiatives that entertain and engage the most sought-after consumers in the world.
In 1984, Shawn Sedlacek started VOX. At the time, it was a small DJ company, based in his home town, Manhattan Beach, California. Shawn married his love of music with his passion for people, and birthed a company that would become a premiere event production and marketing brand in southern California. VOX quickly became a leading mobile DJ service, but exploded in 1991, as Shawn’s proposal for the expansion of the company earned tremendous attention at USC, his alma mater. The school’s student body was already VOX’s biggest client; now the undergraduate entrepreneurship program was getting on board, supporting Sedlacek’s (an undergraduate at the time) business plan for the expansion of VOX Productions as the “Best Business Plan” of 1993.
Trading on VOX’s traction in the elusive, highly sought-after college audience, Sedlacek grew VOX Productions aggressively and successfully by solidifying the company’s reputation for engaging the youth demographic in California (at the time, the epicenter for the surf/skate culture that the rest of the country was voraciously pursuing). From Ford Motor Company, Hollister, Rock Star energy drinks, to MTV, VOX Productions has been, and continues to be a partner that great brands rely on when targeting a young, hip audience.
To better service the company’s clients, Shawn greatly expanded VOX’s capabilities. VOX Events, an extension of the already-successful production business, was executing more and more branded experiences, underwritten by luxury brands, targeting the influencer/Hollywood crowd. Shawn started VOX Marketing to address the growing demand for marketing strategies and executions…that often lived beyond a specific event. Since 2004, clients like Lab series, Ray Ban, Baskin Robbins, Sony Pictures Entertainment, Nestle, and Keihl’s have relied on Shawn and his VOX Marketing team to effectively and efficiently execute innovative programs across the U.S. and Latin America.
Shawn still lives in his hometown of Manhattan Beach, California. When he’s not traveling for business or pleasure, he works closely with several not-for-profit organizations, and is an active alumnus of USC.
