I guess this is the place to share my life since High School, so here it goes.
I'll start with a comment Kelly Brown Dyer made to me upon seeing me at our 25th. The moment she saw me she smiled and said, "You're all grown up!" I chuckled and said, "of course, I'm the same age as you." It was a nice moment in what turned out to be a fantastic weekend.
I guess in others eyes I have grown up, being 6'1 now, compared to my days as a smaller kid in High School. I'm still skinny, as my family jeans dictate, which I've now come to appreciate and be grateful for.
I guess there have been 3 things that have dominated my life since 1983; my career as a TV weatherman, my relationship with Jesus Christ, and my being gay.
In the summer of 1983, my family moved to Kansas City and I followed attending one year of junior college. In 1984, I attended Iowa State University and 7 long years later I received my BS in Meteorology. In 1992, I began my 13 year career as a TV Meteorologist at stations in Wisconsin, Michigan and in Cleveland. Since 2005, I have pursued a career in massage therapy and have worked other jobs to survive the economic crisis here in California. I currently work full-time as a receptionist at Arco Arena.
While attending Iowa State I came to believe in the man Jesus Christ for my eternal salvation and that moment has redirected my life in many ways.
And, after many years hiding behind the hopes and expectations of others, I'm finally coming to accept my being gay. I'm able to appreciate who I am; not who I should be or could be, but who I am. It's been a long journey getting here. The good news is that the journey's not over yet!
