I'm a High School Physical Education Teacher at a charter school in Dallas. I coach the boys/girls high school cross country teams, and the girls soccer team. I am also the yearbook sponsor and oversee the Run Club, Meditation Club, and Backpacking Club - all of which I started by my own ambition.
I began my teaching career in Hillsboro in 2005 after attending UTA and receiving my BA in History and UNT where I was obtained my teaching license. I taught World History and coached Girls/Boys Varsity Soccer, Jr. High Football, and JV Volleyball.
In 2007, I transitioned to Alvarado High School where I taught World/U.S. History and Video Technology. I also coached the girls soccer team. We made the playoffs 2 of my 4 years as the varsity coach and had 3 girls receive Division I Full Ride Scholarships in soccer.
In 2011, I left teaching to sell insurance. I tried that for about 6 months and realized I didn't like it.
For the next 1 1/2 years I took time for myself. I had an entire lifestyle change. I began meditating, doing yoga, I became a vegetarian and only eat organic food. I am in the best shape of my life physically, mentally, socially, emotionally, and financially.
During this time I also traveled, a lot. As of now I have been to 39 countries on 6 continents - one of the perks of being a teacher and saving money.
Today I teach healthy lifestyle choices to high school students. We focus on positive mindset, meditation, yoga, and proper diet and nutrition. I'm regularly voted teacher of the week for our campus.
I enjoy camping, rafting, hiking, playing soccer, photography, yoga, meditation, coaching, leading a healthy lifestyle and encouraging others to do the same.
