I remember John as being an awfully nice guy. We were friends in grade school. If I remember correctly, he had a "Monster Builder" kit that I was impressed with. During high school we had different friends. Still, he was always nice to be around. And he teased me about not growing very tall. What a shame we lost him so young.
I do remember John, well. I had him in a few classes and remember when he started complaining about the pain in his knee and the lump there. I went to his house, with Ray Panek, on Valerie Drive to visit him after he had surgery on his leg and was starting chemo treatments. He was buildings model ships I believe. I remember he had a kind of sarcastic humor and was dealing with his pain very stoically. We talked alot in his last year at school. And to his brother he has been remembered by me as easy going and like I said his sarcastic quick witted humor.
