Entered St. John Seminary in 1965. I was ordained as a priest on May 19, 1973. I served in parishes in Lynn, Lowell, Forest Hills, Medford, Methuen, Revere, and Ipswich. I am currently Pastor of Our Lady of Hope Parish in Ipswich. During the past 50 years, I also did missionary work for about three years in Bolivia and Peru.
I have enjoyed traveling during all this time, I have done the "I Countries"...Ireland, Italy, and Israel numerous times, I have visited Russia, Egypt, Bolivia, Peru, and Las Vegas!
The only "children" I have had are the four-legged variety (dogs), Zechariah, Anubis, and Becket.
As a priest in the Archdiocese of Boston, retirement does not happen until 75 or death! Oh well, keeps me out of trouble!
My favorite memory of School was in May/June of 1965 when I graduated and "got out"!

Allen, a friend from the days of the former Glover School. Became good friends in Junior High School and maintained this friendship through High School. I truly value knowing Allen and his wonderful family. We truly were the "odd couple" (in the old sense!). Allen's personality, religious background, cultural background, family background, his intelligence and joyous approach to life truly helped to "mold" me into the person I am today.
I am sad that the reality of life separated us, I went onto the Seminary and he pursued his careers. We did communicate, but not as much as we should have. I was truly sorry and "hurt" when I learned of his death while I was working in a parish in Peru. I could not attend his service of remembrance in person, but I spoke about him to people I knew in Ate, Peru.
From his Jewish backgound I pray that his Memory and Name will endure forever, from my Christian background I pray that he will rest in Peace. I include in my thoughts his father, Samuel and his mother, Mildred. I am sure he lives in the thoughts and memory of his sister Phyllis and Family.
"A faithful friend is a sturdy shelter; he who finds one finds a treasure. A faithful friend is beyond price, no sum can balance his worth. A faithful friend is a life-saving remedy, such as he who fears God finds; for he who fears God behaves accordingly, and his friend will be like himself." (Sirach 6:14-17)
