It is a blessing to have this opportunity to say hello to my classmates. whether I get to see you at the reunion or not at least I have this opportunty to greet you in the spirit of love. Much has happened to each us over the years and it either made us or broke us but nevertheless we are still here in the land of the living and able to te testify to the good the bad and the ugly so to speak.
What I have been up to since 1989 is a story to long for this computer to hold. I went to the Army in November 1989. Enjoyed it, got injured and got sent home with a messed up back, messed up shoulder and a messed leg. In the time it tok me to recuperate I stop running from the call of God and accepted my call. Preached my first message at Antioch it was entitled " We Need to Stop Half Stepping in the Name of the Lord." Not long after I came in contact with my friend and classmate Lamont Terrell Daniels, we dated, got engaged, and got married. We got married February 13, 1993. Our frst born was conceived that night and born 7 months later. We have had our moments in marriage but every time it got hard We learned to lean on one another. I went to PCCC and earned my Associates Degree in Business Administration. Had my second child while obtaining my degree. this child had in the car. Guess what? It says it on her birth certificate, too.
I have short work history, but I tell you each job was good training towards my current job(s). I substituted in the Lee couty school district and now I know how the teachers felt when I was shcool. I truly apprecite those who choose to become teachers and are in fact good teachers. Now I did enjoy Substituting at the schools but I soon found out that you can't easily get over on children that have been taught well. they will show you what you are made of.
Well, needless to say I got pregnant in 1999, as a matter of fact I was pregnant at our reunion but i just didn't know it. I had a son finally but i went through much to get him here. I fell carrying him and as a result of the third fall my sons thigh bone was broken. It healed in a while still inside. He was born by ceaseran section breach, with one leg shorter than the other because of the way it healed. He's fine today but the doctors still are planning to do surgery.
I know it sounds like my life is full of strange happenings and you are right. I'm no longer vexed by it. I used to wonder why my lif is the way it is and why things happen to me the way they do but i recognize that I was chosen to stand and be an example. Through all of my struggles I still found a brighter tomorrow and a blessing in that day. I was injured in the military and I was considered 85% disabled. In 2006 I received a miracle and I'm able to travel without constant pain, I can drive myself long distance without having to take pain pills constantly. I'm not going to the doctor every month two and three times a month. I go to the doctor for 6 month followups and occasional sinus flare ups. I can run again and I learned how to ride a bike again. I can lift my hands in praise, I can clap my hands and stump my feet. these are things that I couldn't do as a result of my injury in the military. I tried but it would yield me much pain. Some times I have flare ups but I just say I'm healed by his stripes and I keep going. Life is precious to all that is living. I ask that each you my fellow classmates count your blessings because it could be worse. Some of you may have faced some tings much worse than myself but that's okay you came through it you did not set up camp to stay in it. God is and has always been good to us all, so let us not forgt to praise Him. Of course there have been other things to happen in my life but I can't tell it all, if you want more details just call me or drop me an email I truly don't mind.
