Michael Douglas Greenland, 59, of Dahlonega died Sunday at Veterans Administration Hospital, Atlanta, following an extended illness. 

Born in Marion, Ohio to the late Donald Greenland and Melvina Chappell Greenland, he was of the Catholic faith.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Dupree Greenland, Dahlonega; son Alex Greenland, Marion, Ohio; and daughter, Allie Greenland, Marion, Ohio.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Memorial Park Funeral Home.  Graveside services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday, July 21, 2006 at Memorial Park Cemetery.
