I reconnected with Diane at our 46th reunion and most every reunion after that one. What a gracious and pleasant person she was.  She had her share of sorrow in her life, but I never heard her complain.  I know she will be missed by her loving family.

I received the following email from Maria Carr (Diane's daughter-in-law)

Dick,
Thank you for your kind words, I know her son Ron will be grateful to hear as well! Also, I'm pleased to hear you were able to reconnect! I know how much she looked forward to the reunion every year, and how much the connections with All of you Really meant to her. It truly lifted her spirits, especially thru those challenges. I've only been with her for 6 years, and she made those years special for me. It was all the little things, the handwritten notes with her beautiful handwriting, all the matching stationary. How she remembered to send out individual cards for so many birthday, anniversary, and almost Every holiday I'll never know! She certainly knew how to add all the little touches that made us feel special.
As soon as her husband Don ( also a great guy!) let's me know when he has everything ready I will be sure to update you with the info as soon as possible. As far as I know, she is having a cremation, and will be interred next to family at Brush Ridge.  That is so kind to add her to the memory page, I really appreciate that and your time! Thank you so Very much Mr. Szczepanski, for everything. I'll keep in touch.

So sorry to hear of Diane's passing.  Through all of our schooling, she was always a consistent friend, and truly nice and respectful to all.  That last reunion seemed to renew our "good ole' days", and we remembered many of our "Marion days".   Friendships are so important....we should be very thankful for them all!   Adios, Diane.....rest in peace.   ...Mr Ed

I am saddened to hear of Diane's passing.  We became close only in the last 15-20 years because of the Reunions. She left high school to start her family, which she said was her love and life.  She missed all of her MCHS friends, but was very happy with that decision. I regret only that I did not bond earlier.  After receiving her report that she was terminal we began our chats often. She asked for the priest to visit during her last month.  She had been attending a different church, but said the Catholic faith was still a part of her makeup.  She was the most spiritual and non-judgemental person that I have ever known.  Her family should be very proud of her. What a great and loving person.  So sure you are resting in your Savior's arms. Diane!  Miss you!

She had a rough last few years. She was always kind and I hope she is at peace now.
