Balis Eugene Farr is the son of Ray and Martha Josephine Johnson Farr. Gene was born in Laurel, Iowa on December 02, 1928. Gene never married. He died on July 17, 1991 in Marshalltown, Iowa. Gene was a nine – year veteran of The United States Air Force. His first tour of duty was from August 15, 1949 to August 20, 1958. He then reenlisted for six years on August 22, 1952, and was discharged on January 20, 1958. Gene worked for many years at Gra-Iron Foundry in Marshalltown. Gra-Iron Foundry was a major Cast Iron supplier, but, has been out of business for several years.

Gene's gravesite is at Riverside Cemetary, immediately south of Mom and Dad.

             Gene served nine years in the United States Air Force.
