Martha Josephine Johnson Farr was born in McCallsburg, Iowa on October 4, 1896.  She was the daughter of Oscar L. Johnson and Betsy Simmons.  Martha died on December 29, 1984 in Marshalltown, Iowa.  Ray Farr was born in West Union, Iowa on August 09, 1896. Ray was the son of George Edgar Farr and Jennie Dunbar.  Ray Farr died on December 15, 1976.  Ray Farr and Martha Josephine Johnson were married in Marshalltown, Iowa on March 10, 1915. They had nine children: Esther Lillian, Doris Mae, Robert Earl, Dale Edgar, Balis Eugene, Alvin Ray, Marilou, Jack Wayne, and Carl Dean.  Esther was born in McCallsburg, Iowa. Carl was born in Marshalltown, Iowa; and the other seven were born 12 miles south of Marshalltown, Iowa; on a farm in Laurel, Iowa.  All except Carl lived on the farm in Laurel until 1940.
