Hi, I remember going to visit Carol and Ray and the children in Mason City, Ia on many weekends. We always had a great time and played card games and always was fed well! We always had such a great time and always looked forward to our next visit!! Love, LJ and June
Idon't remember how old I was. Ray mlght remember but Ray and Carol would stop and pick me up and we would go to Carol's Mom and Dads farm and play batter up with her brothers. You could'nt find a more loving couple than Carols mom and dad. Man they made meals you really looked forward to. I remember Carol calling my mother many times asking if I could babysit for her while they went out with Willard and Marylou. When Carol and Ray would come out to Arizona She would bring kringla a pretzel looking cookie its a farr thing!! And you knew it would'nt be long and we would be having kumula another farr thing and of course we had to have oyster stew to once in a while. I remember Carol and Marylou went to the movies one night and they took me with them and they got into alot of trouble because they didn't tell my mother thats what they were going to do, it was really an excuse so they could smoke and I remember they threatened me not to tell my mother but I did get icecream out of the deal we went to Lily Mays and they smoked while I ate my icecream , we all seemed to be winners till we got home, remember from your childhood that famous line where have you been I going to leave it right there. When Carol and Marylou were together they were some thing else. They took me to the cemetary to feed the ducks. Then they took me over to a grave site and when I saw the grave stone it said Carl Farr and I took off running and they had a time trying to catch me. Its hard to run when your laughing. What they were showing me was my uncle who I was named after,I thought it was payback for something I did or said, which was kind of hard to believe being the perfect child I was at that time in my family as my other brothers and sisters will testify to.
My last memory of Carol was at the kitchen table with her and Ray She knew she had very little time left.I had an oppertunity to talk to her about Jesus and she was very open to it and she accepted him as Lord and savior Just a few days later she walked right into his arms.
