Thomas Wayne Farr is the son of Jack and Charlotte “Hoke” Farr. Tom was born on February 24, 1957 in Marshalltown, Iowa. He attended Marshalltown Schools and graduated from MarshalltownSenior High School in 1975. He was married to Rhonda Johnston Osland on February 06, 1981 in Marshalltown. Rhonda’s parents are Larry and Rose Osland. Tom and Rhonda had one child, Ryan Thomas Farr; born on July 06, 1983 in Iowa City, Iowa. Ryan Farr currently lives in Peoria, Arizona. His mother, Rhonda (Jeff) Dvorak, also lives in Peoria, Arizona. Tom was always active in school sports programs and excelled in the Marshalltown Football Program. He attended MissouriWesternCollege for two years on a football scholarship.He was a baseball pitcher one year for SiouxEmpireJunior College.For a year he pitched for a semi-pro baseball team called The Indianapolis Clowns. The semi – pro team was initially a famous member of the original Negro League. They travelled to small towns and challenged locals to baseball games (little income from it). They enjoyed (clowning & tricks) and had been fan favorites for years. Tom eventually moved back to Marshalltown and was employed at Swift’s Meat Packing Plant. He was employed with Swift's at the time of his death. Tom died on December 29, 1987 in Marshalltown.
