Carol Harsha (Dunn)

Thanks to so many for the flood of emails about my husband Lars. He came so close to death. Most people don't live through what he had. Because of so many people praying for him, I believe the Lord gave him a second chance at life. He is home from the hospital now recovering. Praise God! Thank you once again. I can't tell you how much it means to me to have friends who really care. You're the greatest! :)

Hope February finds all classmates doing well. I'm praying for winter to end SOON!!! This has been a very long winter! That is why I probably have spent many a Friday and/or Saturday night in a pub having multiple adult beverages. Looking forward to the next reunion. Take care everyone.

It is getting harder and harder to tell you classmates that I enjoyed so much at the class reunion that we have lost another classmate today, Kent Karns has passed on, an is no longer suffering. May God bless him. Please keep Ken's family in your prayers. His little sister Shelley Lynk and his Mom are still here locally as is Kent's children. Keep them in your prayers. When I find out more I will post it.

Kent Karns had been suffering respitory problems since before 2001. He fought till the end and didnot want to live in the state he was in.We shared many good times growing up together, and I will never forget his humor, wit and what a hell of an artist he was.God rest your soul now kent and know that you had many good friends in life.We used to race our camero's together along with Mike Wright, Mike Ellis and Ed Henze. Great Times!!!I guess you won the big race Kent, you beat me to Heaven!

To Ken & Kent,
Go in peace Brother's. I bid you fair winds and following seas on your journey.
Two good men I'm honored to have known from Anson football to countless bonfires, 3 Bridges and some great memories.

Semper Fidelis,

Andy

We suffer the shock of Ken's sudden loss, from Terry's update...relief to Kent's pain. We celebrate their lives with the fond memories we have of the years we have with them. We are thankful for the chance to know them and how they enriched our lives. Thoughts and prayers to their famlies. Celebrate their lives by keeping their joyful memories alive bringing a smile from the heart.

Rest in peace Ken & Kent. Fond memories of Anson Jr. High and MHS include time spent with those two good guys. See you on the other side.

Hey Mike, got my bike out about two weeks ago. Was going for a short spin, but it turned out to be a 2-hr ride. Felt great!!

Take care everyone. We are losing too many old friends. Maybe we shouldn't wait 10 years to meet up again!! 2014 sounds good to me. God Bless you all and your families.

Kari, thanks for doing a great job of keeping us all informed. Wow, we have lost too many classmates at too young of an age! Thoughts go out to the Karns family.

The best memory that comes to mind is Kent hitting his head on the roof of the car while watching Halloween at the drive in. A close second would be him telling me in 1993 that he could die any day now. I knew it wouldn't be any time soon. But too soon none the less. Kinda makes one think, who is next? Or is that just me?

A vase with a red & blue carnation will be at Kent's funeral from the Class of 79, we are going to start doing this for every classmate from now on. If we find out soon enough, if not, we will send a memorial to the family from the Class of 79. We hadn't thought about it until now because we are in denial that we are getting old and that this will happen more often than we want it to. I heard someone say once you turn 40 you start attending more funerals than weddings, that is so sad.

Remember why we get Monday off, a big thank you to our 17 classmates that served for us in the military that are profiled on this site.  We get to enjoy life as we know it for the sacrifices you gave in serving for our country.   We also should remember our 26 deceased classmates this day too.

Everyone be safe this holiday weekend.

It just washed up on the sandbar, and Glen was partched.  Somebody probably threw it out of their boat.

Next Florabama show at Rockfest in Cadott, WI, 7/16, will feature Grand Masta Dee-Fog on the turntable scratchin'.

Just letting everyone know that the Class of 1980 is having their 30th reunion this weekend at the BBQ event like we did, and then they will be at the American Legion on Saturday night.  So if you think you are seeing someone from your past you might be there are 91 classmates registered on their site that will be attending their reunion...

Kari Hennis (Riemenschneider)

This weekend, the Class of 1980 had their reunion and are collecting donations, they are within about $900 of the $3300 needed to make the full body mascot a reality.   The school hasn't had a mascot since 1976.

Just throwing it out there that if any of you wanted to contribute, even if it is only $10 or $20 toward the purchase of the school's new one, it would be appreciated. You can make the check out to MHS Class of 1979-Mascot Fund and send it to me at 602 W. Southridge Road, Marshalltown, IA 50158 We wil then present the Class of 1980 with our class donation...

They have received donations from the Class of 1968 and some from our class already. Anyhow....they are so close they can taste it and hoped our class can make it happen.
