I heard that the class of '89 would be at the park also.

Some of us are thinking it might be nice to meet for coffee or soda's before the "Keg" is tapped. Would anyone else be interested in meeting somewhere mid afternoon?

06/15/09 11:01 PM #173

Lane Williams

Mary,
Not sure where you are thinking of getting together for coffee or sodas, but a good number of the class is golfing at the Legion at noon. They will be coming off the course between 3:00 and 4:00. The Legion I believe has a nice 19th hole (restaurant/bar)that might be something to consider. I'm not there, so one of the townies would have to advise on what's available at the Legion. Just a thought!

Kari Hennis (Riemenschneider)

Sure thing the 19th hole at the Legion is perfect...they have all kinds of stuff to eat and drink, plus Denise Leavy Decker is putting on a spread for the golfers coming off the course, myself and LeeAnn Bryant Malaska will be running around the course all afternoon taking pictures of the golfers and fun, so come join us for those who come into town early.....

My other suggestion is that we all meet at Taylor's Maid-Rite all at the same time.

Lane,

If you go, pick me up two with everything and a stawberry malt!

Leisha Kribs

Kari,
How many people are coming to the reunion? Is it more than what is listed on this site?

06/17/09 09:07 AM #178

Kari Hennis (Riemenschneider)

Okay folks...to answer some questions here it goes.
Mary yes, Perkins is still there...very nice
Leisha-yes there are some that have not profiled yet that have sent me money...I will have a close count for you this afternoon and redo this posting...
So far there is 32 golfers that will be coming off the Legion Golf Course around 3 p.m. if anyone wants to start really early celebrating...

Oh by the way..the Park and Rec will have baracades up at the intersection of Hwy 14 & Park entrance..you will have to tell them what business you have down to the park to have them let you in, they are limiting the entrance into the park, we have a nice parking lot with the building we are renting and will have it saved for classmates only.

Okay Friday Night I have 121 classmates (not counting spouses) that have paid for Friday night....I have 20 on the website that claim they are coming but have not responded to my emails..or paid so we may have more than that for Friday.... Saturday night 104 classmates (not including spouses) but again that number will grow with the 20 classmates that have not paid...

Mary Pappas (Adams)

Kari-- you've got it all covered. We are so lucky to have you covering all of this. The parking set up at the Park sounds like it will really help.

The Legion get together after golfing sounds nice.

Kari- will we have our own music at the park building- or will we be listening to the music at the Park?

So wouldn't if be a kick if we wore our graduation hats for a little while Friday night- since there will be other classes? I'm sure someone can come up with a comment for this corny idea:):):)

06/17/09 03:06 PM #180

Lane Williams

Deans hat wouldn't fit! *S*

Brian did you want ketchup with yours?

And to back up what Mary said....... We all owe a great bit or gratitude to Kari, and the committee members for getting all of this arraigned. Those of us from out of town, that are coming in for the weekend, all appreciate what everyone has done for this reunion.

And to those who can't make it..... you'll be missed

Many thanks to each of you!

Kari Hennis (Riemenschneider)

Mary there are live bands playing all night down there and Saturday all day with the barbque contest going on with many various styles of music you will love it..we don't need any more music on Friday. P.S. we will have folding chairs to sit outside and enjoy the music from afar or you could bring lawn chairs if you want comfort.

Just checked out the long range forecast for next weekend, highs in the low 80's, mostly sunny to sunny and lows in the low 60's, sounds like great weather!!!

Mike,
I still ride. I have a 1975 Honda, 750; They call that a vintage bike now. guess that kinda puts things in perspective for us. Anyway, I doubt that I'll have it at the reunion. But, sounds fun anyway!

Jay,
I'm with you. Ketchup on maid-rite? Just seems wrong!
Sorry, you can't make it back. It would be good to see you. Take care.

Jerry,
I'm kinda cheating, trailering bike back, don't have enough time and room on bike for me and wife's stuff for the weekend. Getting the golf clubs strapped to the bike might be kinda difficult, LOL.

Hey everyone the numbers are climbing everyday, I am not refusing to take in more money form any classmate, so if you know of any classmates that think its too late, it's not...just have them contact me directly and let me know...I have to have a count for the caterer by Thursday of next week. But don't want to have anyone have to take money at the door on Friday....the committee wants to enjoy themselves too...this is what we have been working so hard for...a hugh turn out.

I ride my own bike. But its way too long a ride from Colorado for a weekend visit. It would be a fun ride though.

Some of you may/or not remember my parents owned the Suzuki shop, Marshall Suzuki, during the 70s. On 3rd Ave. next to Dairy Queen.

06/19/09 02:38 PM #193

Craig Broyles

I do remember your parents shop now that you mention it. As many times as I wrecked my dirt bikes back then and needed them fixed, we might have paid for your college education.

Greetings All,

I'll be in Fri around noon from ATL, thought about hitting the Legion that aft, to razz classmates as I'm not old enough to golf yet, nor round enough. Look forward to seeing everyone!
