Kim Zey Gawatz

I attended UNI for a year then moved to St. Joseph Missouri in 1980. I worked for a few years then went to Missouri Western State University and graduated in 1987. After graduation I worked as a paralegal in Kansas City. I got married and we moved there in 1988, tired of commuting every day. My daughter Grace was born in 1990 and now is a freshman at Benedictine College, where does the time go??? My other daughter Allison was born in 1993 and is a freshman at Bishop LeBlond High School here in St. Joseph and is a tennis and soccer player. We moved back here about 17 years ago so I could be a stay at home Mom. That lasted until 1997 where I started working at the St. Joseph News-Press and have been there ever since. I started in our Circulation department, went to Advertising, IT, Mail Systems, Print Production and now Accounting. We own several newspapers and broadcast stations so it's never boring. I spend my free time running my daughter around, or so it seems, to her various activities, running and hanging out with friends. I've been divorced for about a year now. I'm really looking forward to coming back to Marshalltown - can't wait to have a Maid Rite! They're just not the same here....
