Wow, I wrote all this before looking at anyone else's. Didn't mean to overdo it.
I joined the Indiana National Guard in 1987, and ETS'd in 1995. I have mostly worked in construction the whole time, with a few other quirky jobs along the way. Mechanic for a trucking company, railroad crew, lunch truck vendor, package delivery driver, but all of those were short lived. I ran my own construction business until 2004, when I started with Shiel Sexton, an Indiana based construction management company.
I first married in 1990, to Kim Garrett, from Washington High School in Indy. She is the mother of Stephanie and Jennifer. I married the second time in 1997, to Cathy Sarber, from the class of 1988. She is Nathaniel's mother.
I married Linda in 2003, and she had Makayla and Spencer from her previous marriage. Linda has been the love of my heart since the day I met her, and that was so long ago, that I don't ever really remember not knowing her. By all conventional thinking, we should have married in the first place, but when we look at all those children, (none of them being ours together), I'm just so thankful that it happened the way it did, and wouldn't change a thing.
I never went to college, but should have taken the offer to go to Butler on a scholarship/grant that covered everything except the cost of housing. I didn't really think that would happen, as I didn't even take the SAT until well after graduation, and so by the time I got the offer, I had alread taken the oath, and had orders for Basic Training at Fort Bliss, Texas.
Life is currently very busy with work, a handful of rental houses to manage, and of course the daily drama of 3 teenage daughters in the house. (Not to mention the boys!) I also play music fairly often, with a long string of country bands along the way. I've always played the bass, but 12 years after high school orchestra, I decided to play the fiddle instead. Problem was I had to re-learn everything. It's really fun at this point. Playing the fiddle has enhanced my life experiences tremendously. I've been fortunate enough to land in some cool places.
Linda and I are looking forward to children becoming adults, grand children, and all that comes with a big happy family. Life definitely has its challenges, but we wouldn't change a thing.
