Scott Lee Martin, 49, Greencastle, passed unexpectedly from this life on December 3, 2019 at his residence. Scott was born May 13, 1970 in Martinsville to Karen (Meadows) Smith and the late Mark Lee Martin.
Scott was a lifelong Morgan County resident. He graduated from Martinsville High School with the Class of 1988 and attended Vincennes University. Scott had a passion for giving back to his community by raising money to help others in need. Additionally, he enjoyed vacationing in Florida and fishing. He was a member of the New Salem Church in Gosport, Indiana.
Scott was a dedicated father, son, brother and uncle. Outside of his family, his greatest love was fast pitch softball. He served as director of USSSA Softball and was former owner of UFO (United Fast Pitch Organization) in Martinsville.
Scott leaves behind his loving family including his pride and joy, daughter, Kellie Anne Martin of Mooresville; mother and step-father, Karen and Marvin Smith of Gosport; brother, Greg A. Martin and his children, Lexi, Isaac and Abby Martin; grandmother, Lois Meadows of Bloomington; several great nieces and nephews; former spouse and dear friend, Danielle Martin of Mooresville; companion, Jackie Hicks of Greencastle and step brothers, Matthew R. and B. Tyler Smith.
He was preceded in death by his father, Mark Lee Martin; grandparents, Robert and Myra Martin and grandfather, Robert Meadows.
Family and friends are invited to visit on Friday, December 6th from 5:00 pm-8:00 pm and Saturday, December 7th from 1:00 pm until time of service at Neal & Summers Funeral & Cremation Center. Mike Ellis will officiate at a service celebrating Scott's life beginning at 2:00 pm on Saturday at the funeral home. There will be no burial. His earthly remains will be cremated following the service.
