He was 39 years old. He is survived by sister, Debbie Finney and brother, Cary Payton.

Craig Payton, 39, Paragon, died at 2:08 p.m. Nov. 9, 2007, at his home.

Born June 26, 1968, in Bloomington, he was the son of the late Daniel Chester and Marilyn Ann (Summitt) Payton.

He was a car salesman at Weliever Car Sales in Martinsville.

He enjoyed his family, friends, music and sports. He played basketball and baseball in high school.

He was a 1988 graduate of Martinsville High School and a member of New Life Christian Church in Paragon.

Survivors include a sister, Debbie Finney of Paragon and a brother, Cary Payton of Paragon.

The service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at New Life Christian Church in Paragon. John Mitchell will officiate.

Visiting hours will be 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church.

Burial will be in Friendship Park Cemetery in Paragon.

Costin Funeral Chapel in Martinsville is in charge of arrangements.

The service for Craig Payton was 11 a.m. Wednesday at New Life Christian Church in Paragon. John Mitchell officiated.

Payton, 39, Paragon, died Nov. 9, 2007, at his residence.

Several family members and friends shared memories.

Recorded musical selections included "Imagine," "I Can Only Imagine," "Hurt," and "Don't Worry, Be Happy."

Roy Lamar played guitar and sang "Light a Candle." The congregation participated in a candle lighting ceremony during the song.

Danny Privett played guitar and sang "Another Friend."

Burial was at Friendship Park Cemetery in Paragon.

Pallbearers were Cary and Casey Payton, Matt Finney, James Adkins, Roy Lamar, Dale Snapp, Sammy Houston, Mark Mosier and Danny Dotson.

Following the service, family and friends shared a meal at New Life Christian Church in Paragon.

Costin Funeral Chapel in Martinsville was in charge of arrangements.
