Ron and I got married on Oct 18,2008 in the amphitheater of Fairystone State Park. What a beautiful day with awesome scenery.You can see pics on our facebook page. Send me a note and I'll send you the link.
On Jan 4,2009 his right vertebral vein in his neck burst causing a brain hemorrhage.After 33 days in UVa hospital we came home with an IV in his arm to administer antibiotics for 3 more weeks. (While in the ICU he got a staff infection in his brain from the drain tube -usually fatal.) I'm happy to say that Ron is recovering fantastically and there should be no permanent damage other than the scar on his head from the scraping out of his infection.
I'm waiting tables at the Dutch Inn Restaurant in Collinsvile and Working at Kroger plus enjoying spending time with Ron as he continues to gain back his strength. Hopefully he will be able to get back into his business of selling health and life insurance soon. How ironic-huh!? Anyway, he's been an agent in this area since 1980 and is such a pleasant person to be around. My sister Angela introduced us to each other in 2007.
We found a book at the library entitled "My Stroke of Insight" written br Dr Jill Bolte Taylor. She was 37 years old and experienced something similar to Ron and after 8 years has recovered completely. It has been a great sorce of inspiration to us, highly recommended and very easy to read.
