Linda and I had re-bonded when she starte working at UT Hospital in the radiology department. I worked in the pathology department as a transcriptionist and we were able to reconnect and started having lunch together almost daily. When she was diagnosed with lymphoma, it was a terrible day in my life. But, during her whole (but short) battle with this terrible disease, she was such an inspiration to me. She was always worried about everyone around her, and didn't want focus on her illness. I remember the last time she spoke to me, was just 2 days before she died. I went to see her in her hospital room, and we held hands and talked. She looked so tired, but the last thing she told me was, "keep faith in God, and he will give you a healthy baby". This was just 2 months after my first-born daughter, Leanne Renea, had been born with multiple birth defects and died 10 days later. I was just amazed that even that close to death, she was worried about my well being.

I knew Linda since elementary school. We spent the night at each other's house and had great adventures! When I think of her, I think of her bright friendly eyes and kind smile. She was always positive and I felt better whenever I spoke with her. I just couldn't believe it when she passed away, she was always so full of life. She was a bright spot in my childhood.

Linda and I were in homeroom together through the years. She was always cracking me up with something she was saying or doing. She was one of those people that was truly kind and good-hearted.
