Happy Thanksgiving, everyone. Susan, are you "over yonder" now? Give JHS my best and stay out of the harem. A friend sent me an e-mail today about a site where you can send messages to soldiers. It's sponsored by Xerox. If you go to www.LetsSayThanks.com you can pick out a thank-you card and Xerox will print it and send it to a soldier who is currently serving in Iraq. You can't pick out who gets the card, but it will go to some member of the armed services. I didn't do any research on it other than to click on the site. It looks legit and the only info you provide is your name, hometown, state and a message. You can choose one of several prepared messages or create your own. I thought it was great to share thanks with a soldier, no matter what your feeling on the war may be. Best wishes to all for a safe, happy and blessed holiday.
Sleep late. Eat some turkey. Watch a parade. Eat another scoop full of mashed potatoes. Watch a football game. Eat some more sweet potato casserole. Take a walk. Eat some pumpkin pie. Go outside and play tag football with the family. Eat another roll with gravy. Take a nap while watching the parade. Eat another plate of turkey and dressing. Take a nap during the football game. Eat some banana pudding. Then waddle off to bed.
Just wanna invite all to a Turkey Burn at my YMCA starting at 5:00a on Friday after Thanksgiving -- I'll be teaching power yoga at 8:00a. Any takers?
Cindy I would love to come to your yoga class but fortunately I will be in Durham hugging on my beautiful, healthy growing granddaughter- Lydia.... and my daughter Shanna, my son-in-law Rick- not so much.
Hope everyone has a wonderful holiday and be careful if you travel.
Happy Turkey Week everyone! I hope everyone takes time to reflect on all that we have to be thankful for.
I AM THANKFUL FOR: (FAMILY) (PROVIDENCE)
Even though we are setting a new tradion in not spending time with extended family this year. I am very excited that our son Ben and daughter in law Gena are coming in Tues. for 6 whole days. I am thankful my step-son Allen is celebrating his 37th Birthday this week. He was only 5 when Charlie & I dated. I am thankful for living in a free country where we are allowed to pray to God. I am thankful for this old house and property AND my "old" husband (ha-ha.) I am thankful for living in this area where there are people like the class of '73.
Like most, I am thankful for living in this country, good times and hard times. I thank God daily for the life he has given me. I am thankful for my family, my two wonderful children and, of course, my new healthy granddaughter,Lydia Ruth. I am glad I survived another birthday. But the latest think I am thankful for is Webcam. It has allowed me to see Lydia almost every day and let her hear my voice. It is not the same as holding her but it is better than years before. I am so grateful to all my friends from "73" and hope we get together many more times, even if it is at Asbury or Morningview.
Okay, Diane....what's this Asbury or Morningview stuff??? haha....I am also very thankful for first of all, my Lord up above & all that He has blessed me with. I am thankful for my lovely sweet daughter, my brave son, my wonderful son-in-law, and my precious amazing granddaughter & grandson!! I am thankful for my family's health & protection, and to all of our military, past & present & future, for keeping us FREE. And I am thankful for my 1973 Everett family and the fact that we have reconnected hopefully until we are old & feeble & our fingers don't work anymore on the keyboard!! Everyone have a blessed Thanksgiving...God Bless! Debbie
Cindy and I want to send each of you greetings from the Sundshine State as we approach Turkey Day. We too have many reasons to give thanks and praise to God. May you all have a blessed Thanksgiving.
Hey everyone! Man it was so awesome to take some time off from work. I have only worked 3 days each the last two weeks after having ten days off. Boy, I needed this. Cindy: I would love to try some yoga, but I fear my arthritis would prevent me from doing too much. I would probably snap in two! Gary: Hope you all have a wonderful, blessed Thanksgiving in Florida. Do they have Thanksgiving in Florida? Linda B: I read your latest article in The Times today. It was awesome!!!!!!!! I printed it off and put it out where other people in the department could read it. We have some people in our department that really need to see the article. We do have so much to be thankful for. Everyone: I hope you all have a wonderful, blessed Thanksgiving. Personally, we will be spending dinner with my Mom and family. My Mom will fix tenderloin for me. I look forward to this every year. Best tenderloin you could ever imagine! Later, we will go to Dena's parents' for supper. Then we will come home and DIE! THEN, per C's advice, Joey and I will spend the rest of the weekend sleeping, watching ballgames, napping, watching ballgames, nibbling on leftovers, napping, watching ballgames...I guess you get the picture. The "girls" will shop their hearts out over the weekend. God bless them. I sure am glad that God didn't make shopping "men's work"!!!!!!!!!!!!! Linda B: Thanks again for that wonderful article. Carolyn L: waiting to hear from you. Susan D: PULEEZE be careful going to the middle east! Prayers are with you!
Roger, you make me blush. It's always nice to hear good things, though. We usually just hear about what we've done wrong around here. ... Isn't it wonderful that I can write about my personal Christian faith without being censored? That's definitely something to be thankful for every day and I appreciate my editors for allowing me this privilege.
Hey guys and gals, Just want toask that we remember our service men and women this Thankgiving. Without themand my fellow vets. we may not be able to enjoy this day. I love folks. It been great getting together like this. Everyone please be careful {Esp. Susan D.} and don't eat alot because Christmas coming soon. GOD BLESS AND GOD BLESS AMERICA.
I am Thankful. Every day I find something new to Thank and Praise God. I am thankful that my family health issues have improved and are stable. I am thankful that God placed a wonderful husband in my life (finally). I am Thankful for two beautiful and crazy (who take after their aunt! lol! the crazy part) nieces. (They both keep saying that me moving to Dubai is not going to happen.) I am Thankful that Willa Willocks Adams sold our land that had been a thorn in our sides for 9 years. Willa did in 5 months what other realators could not do in 9 years. I am Thankful that God has blessed me and my family. I am Thankful and blessed that you, my friends from class of 73, are here and we are able to reunite. Many of us did not know or even have classes with some of our classmates and yet we are friends and appreciate the company of each other. I am Thankful that so many of our classmates believe in God and Jesus and are not afraid to write or talk about it. I am thankful that we can all pray for each other and that we can ask each other for prayer. Everyone have a Blessed and Happy Thanksgiving. Love to you.....
Happy Thanksiving all. I am working this brisk Thanksgiving morning and I am not whining about it. I am blessed to have a job. A job in the healthcare field is one that has a little more security, maybe. Plus, I am leaving tomorrow to go see my healthy granddaughter who now weighs 8 lbs 14 oz and is 21 1/2 inches long. Healthy and thriving. Thanks for all of your support and friendship. Have a good one.
Well, I didn't win the powerball last night, so I guess it's off to another week of work. It has been wonderful to have both of the children home for the Thanksgiving holidays. We are so blessed to have such wonderful children. Erin is now in Georgia visiting her cousin and Joey is back at school. Only a week and a half and Joey will be back with us for about a month. CAN'T WAIT! He will be working with a cousin for FEDEX. I hope everyone had as great a Thanksgiving as we did. It's just a month until CHRISTMAS!
Happy December 1st everyone and hope everyone has recovered from the turkey, etc. Here we are off to the races until Christmas. I am home after having gone to Durham to spend time with my two favorite girls and I miss them already. Lydia is looks so healthy and is healthy at this point. I uploaded a new picture for you to see and you can see that I did what grammas do best,,,,,, do photo shoots.... Later
