Susan, I have done that "wipe out the epic novel" move on my laptop a few times! I can't wait to hear your stories.

Kathy, yes, it is a laptop and I cannot figure out which key it is, but I continue to wipe everything out. Yes, can't wait to get together....

Mark Payne called me today he is going to be in town and some of us are meeting him for dinner at 6:30 at TGI Fridays in Maryville. If anyone wants to join us call and let me know by 6:00 p.m. so I can save a seat for you. I know it is spur of the moment but sometimes that is the way it is with Mark (Mark Harmon as some of us like to call him). Diane- 207-5781

How is everyone doing out there this New Year? Anybody made and broke resolutions? The only resolution I kept that I care about keeping is spending as much time with Lydia as I can. Am going to Durham to see her on Friday.

Hope everyone's new year is off to a good start. I sure will be glad when it warms up a bit. This weather is way to cold for me! 62 days until SPRING!!!!

Yes I am up at 3:00 a.m, awake since 1:00 a.m I am not crazy ..blame it headache, too much on my mind, hormones, lack thereof, you name it. To quote the MDs..."as we age or better yet..as life progresses. Oh well, almost time to go to work. Happy Monday.

As my birthday arrived this month, in addition to receiving birthday greetings from my mom, she added that she is too young to have a son in his 50's. Therefore I have been instructed to tell folks I'm 45 until further notice.

Happy Birthday to all fellow January people!

01/26/09 03:50 PM #603

Roger McCown

I'll go for 45 again! If, I can be where I am now at 53 when I got back to 45. By the time I got back to 53 the second time, I would be in a really good place! Hmmm. This time travel business gets kind of confusing. Maybe I should just stay where I am and count my blessings. Guess I'll do like Gary and just tell everyone I'm 45...just had a hard life! Happy Birthday January babies!

1. Kudos Kathy Hall - you are undertaking a great and wonderful project.

2. Please everyone, pray for the family of a fellow hiker.
He took his life yesterday due to back pain. I have
hiked with him for many many years. I would not have thought such a thing could happen.

3. One other thing, in case there are hikers or back country campers in this group. We have a couple of new camp sites. #41 and 56 are located in the Deep Low Gap, and Indian Camp Prong areas of NC. They will be on the new trail maps coming out in the spring. The two campsites on Ace Gap, #'s 4 and 7 are permantly closed. One is too close to a former governor's house, and there is inadequate water supply at both sites anyway. Another campsite is moved on Sugarlands trail near Husky Gap. It is currently located on Huskey Gap Trail about 3/10's m. from previous location.

Just in case anyone needs or wants to know.
