I kept thinking of the old hymn, "I'll Fly Away" yesterday. Everything's OK at my house, just a few shingles blown away. Hope everyone faired as well.

Several of you probably know Ralph Grindstaff, Bill Grindstaff's brother and formerly the resident manager of Historic Sam Houston Schoolhouse. Ralph passed away Wednesday after battling cancer for several years. Please remember the family in prayer.

Debbie Pickel (Harper) Hi Susan....I think we are all hibernating & waiting on this cold crazy winter to END!!! Can't wait to see the beautiful lillies begin to bloom....the green grass coming back, birds singing....warm temps....yep, I need a vacation!

Not to be a smart***, but if you come to Ocala right now you can see azaleas, dogwoods, tulip poplars, and just about everything else blooming. And the cardinals & bluebirds have just arrived. 72 to 75 each day, blue skies, and a small breeze. No mountains though (unless you count "Mount Marion," which is at the local landfill..... you don't want to know). Take care & be well.

Debbie Pickel (Harper) DINNER.....Thursday, March 5 around 7 pm??? Any takers?? Any suggestions where? We usually do Applebees on Alcoa hwy., but hey, we can go anywhere! Kathy Phillips (McBride) I think I can do that Debbie! I have a training session just before that, but I will be through at 5:30. I need to check the basketball schedule, see if there is a potential conflict, but other than that, I can't think of anything.

Depends on work. If I am not working, Dena and will try to get there. Will post on Thursday...yes or no. Marshall: My baby sister got four inches of snow in Locust Grove Georgia this weekend. We didn't get any. But it is freezin butt cold up here. Wish we had some of your warm weather. Also, baby sister is in Tuscon, AZ visiting her daughter and son inlaw. Temp is 85 and she is laying out in the sun. Hate her. Son inlaw plays for the Colorado Rockies. Matt Murton. One of the nicest/christian guys you will ever meet. Stay warm!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Okay, I am sure this doesn't have anything to do with the fact that sometimes my mind actually "acts" like a true 53 year old (haha,yeah right)....but!!....I am working a 2nd shift this week (I only do this once every 6 weeks) and can't make dinner "this" Thursday night....!! I don't know why in the world I didn't realize that last week! So....how about we change it to next Thursday evening, which is March 12?? Unless you guys want to go ahead to do this Thursday night, and of course, that's fine & I'll catch you next time!

But otherwise, just post here on the forum whether anyone wants to come Thursday - March 12 - to Applebees at 7 pm. Sorry guys!!! Just call me goofy that I forgot about this silly 2nd shift thing at work!

Roger McCown I was looking through our annuals today. I am now on Facebook and some of our older classmates have been adding me to their page. In our junior annual is a Vickie Pope in both our class and the '72 class. It looks like the same person. Anyone know? Also, I got punked in our senior annual. Wondered who did it all these years. Today I think I have figured it out.

Thought I would let you know that Coach Yogi Wilson died yesterday at Blount Memorial Hospital. His obit was in today's Times. I had him for study hall my senior year at Everett. For the classmates who moved from Maryville and may not know he was girls basketball coach at Heritage for years...
