LOL. we will be coming I 75 and will let you know if we stop to eat in your area. thanks. we have decided to go to Stuart for a couple of days, then go down to Key Largo for couple of days and come back by Miami Springs.

Roger, sorry i missed you guys last night. aunt Retha was a precious lady and enjoyed life. Sandy W. told me she thought Brenda was me and you told her it was Brenda. oh to be that thin again. i think Sandy needs glasses. OK, folks, I'm in with both feet. Now have a Facebook account and several friends. One of the younger, hipper coworkers helped me sign up and has been laughing at me the whole time. Said her feet were getting really cold since hell was freezing over ... Sandy, I don't know how much I'll do with this, but it's mainly for work at this point.

Roger, I'm a Tebow fan, too, but only when Florida is not playing Tennessee. Nobody holds a candle to Peyton, though.

Everyone, have a great weekend. My irises are beginning to bloom and some roses are peeping out - it's a great world!

In response to Gary Marshall's post I have been to Charlie's Bunion a few times. It is not that far a hike from Newfound Gap and quite an incredible site.
Don't know if you remember me Gary but my ex in -laws used to live in Inverness so I always had to go through Ocala to get there. Nice town.
I really liked Homassasas Springs if I spelled that right and seeing all the manatees. Also went to Kissimmee and went to the home of Marjorie Kensington Rawlings who wrote the book " The Yearling" about a boy and a deer. Never read the book although she did live quite an
interesting life,dying an alcoholic.
Hope everone is having a great day but I still think anyone who still has the stanima should check out Spence Field. It is a very beautiful place.
God Bless

Hey everyone - some of you have said something to me about getting together again to eat. I guess our class likes food! We are planning to eat Tuesday night (May 19....this coming Tuesday night) at that Japanese restaurant that Jonathan mentioned previously. I do not know the name of the restaurant (Jonathan?? do you know?), but it is down by the 'new' Walmart in Maryville off of 411. Our plan is to meet at 7 pmish. So, bring your spouse or just yourself....see you Tuesday evening!

I don't know how many motorcycle riders are out there, but there will be a Motorcycle Run/Swap Meet to benefit the Gateway to Independence-www.gatewaytoindependence.org if you are not familiar with this, it is a place where special needs adults can go a couple of days a week to hang out with peers, go bowling, watch movies, work on job skills , etc. It was started about 5 years ago by parents and special needs professionals in Blount County because the social opportunities for these special people is very limited, or non-existant upon graduation from high school. It also gives their caregivers a sometimes, much needed break..two of my sons are autistic and the oldest now attends..I thank God for this place and the social opportunities and chance for him to be a part of something that this has given him. The registration for the ride is at 1:oo pm Saturday, May 23 at Smokey Mountain Harley Davidson Dealer on 321..the ride is at 2:00, swap meet from 12-4- cost is $15 for 1 rider $25 for 2. Thank you and please pass this information on to anyone who you know who might be interested...I really enjoy reading about everyones adventures here. May God bless you. Karen

Congratulations Sandy & Kenneth! Hope you have a wonderful wedding & honeymoon.
Diane - Thanks for the nod in your post for Linda. My department doesn't get awards anymore. We used to get "Design & Appearance" but they moved that to the newsroom. I don't think my poor little classified section even has a category.
Hope everyone has wonderful summer vacations.

05/19/09 07:24 PM #754

Linda Braden (Albert)

Diane, thanks again for your kind words. Joyce, your name might not be on the front page, but those of us with more brain than ego know it takes the entire building to publish a newspaper. No department can stand on its own successfully. We all take the blame and we all take the credit!

Joyce, there are always people behind the scenes who are necessarily recognized or singled out but we all know who are instrumental in the award winners success. Congrats to you as well.

Good Morning!

Last night was fun at the Saka Japanese Grill! The food was good and the company was even better!

Diane W. - I have started going through and throwing out anything in my house "made in China"! And yeah - you are so right - there are no words of comfort - so just go with "it sucks"! I am behind you all the way!

Debbie P.- You haven't changed a bit - except I could have sworn you were in the band. Probably because you were always with Kathy. I do remember seeing you years after we graduated and you were pregnant - and I remember thinking how beautiful you looked!

Jonathan - Congratulations on your upcoming Daughter's wedding! Let us know how the "road trip" goes! Better yet, call us from the road and give us a "blow-by-blow" description!

Pokey - I do have glasses, but too vain to wear them!

Linda & Joyce - You both are such talented women. The Times is lucky to have you!

I think it is about time for another reunion! I am game and willing to help! It could be just a simple picnic!
