Kathy: Excellent response! Hope everyone has a good time at the oriental place. Won't make that one. Don't do oriental. I'm off to the greenbelt. Trying to get these knees in shape to do a little hiking this spring/summer. Take care, have a blessed week!

One more thing. Does anyone remember Marianne Garvey? She was a year or two ahead of us. She is on facebook as Marianne Garvey Wells. She has some of the most awesome pictures you will ever see. She is really tallented. You should "add" her as a friend so you can access her pictures. Night-night.

Diane - Look for Lydia's pic in the baby section on the first page, number 5 in row 3 (I think). I didn't realize she had your mom's name for her middle name. That's so sweet.

Good morning Joyce

Thanks for the heads up about Lydia's picture.Yes, Lydia was named after my mom. I named Lydia's mom, Shanna Ruth after my mom and Shanna loves her grandmother and named her Ruth after her as well. Couldn't convince Shanna to name her Elizabeth or Diane. Oh well. Lydia Ruth is the perfect name for her. Thank you.

If anyone wants to view the snow at Look Rock, go to
www.nature.nps.gov. You have a choice to look at the snow on other ridges as well.
Have a great day in Jesus, Kay

I'm going to N.C to visit Shanna, Rick and Lydia. I was thinking either one of the last two weekends in April might be a good time for our hike. Talk it over amongst yourselves. Have a happy and blessed Easter.

I will take the time on any weekend. As long as it isn't on a Sunday. Just let me know when others want to make the trip.

FYI

Road closures that are coming soon.

Clingmans Dome Road in Great Smoky Mountains National Park will be closed to visitor use starting at 7 p.m. on April 23 to 5 p.m. on April 24.
The Clingmans Dome Road is a 7 mile spur road off of Newfound Gap Road (U.S. 441).
As part of the 75th Anniversary of Great Smoky Mountains National Park, a Governors’ Proclamation Ceremony commemorating the creation of the Park will be held in the Clingmans Dome parking area which necessitates the
closure of the road. Over 200 invited representatives of the Park’s neighboring city and county elected officials, tourism representatives and state officials of North Carolina and Tennessee are expected to attend.
The purpose of the event is to recognize the important role that local citizens and community leaders, state legislators, and governors played in establishing this national park.
The road closure will affect access to the Clingmans Dome observation tower and several trailheads located along this route during this period.

Hey all you pet lovers! The Daily Times is printing their annual pet tab and we have put the photos on spotted.thedailytimes.com.
The photo that gets the most votes goes in color on the front of the tab.
Everybody help us out: vote and tell your friends.

Believe it or not, I'm almost in the 21st century. We were instructed to sign up for Twitter and Facebook at work - so far, I can Twitter but still no Facebook. Susan and Carolyn, you might end up having me for an FF (Facebook friend) after all!

How's everybody doing? Not much action here lately. Hope all's well.

Hey, Sandy!

'Sorry this is late, but I have had an occupational hazard (Lent and Easter).... then some vacation days. I live in Ocala, Fl. If you drew a line from Daytona Beach across the state, you'd intersect us at I-75. We're about 45 minutes from the Gulf, and 1.5 hours from the Atlantic. While we're not near your springs, we are the home of Silver Springs (home of Sea Hunt, Tarzan, and 2 shows from the Crocadile hunter). Within a 1 hour drive are Ginny springs (actually 7 total), Alexander Springs, Rainbow Springs, Ichetucknee Springs, .... well, you get the idea. All the springs are 72 degrees year-round -- COLD in summer and wonderful in winter. Hey, if you're coming down I-75, please let Cindy & I know.

As to the Smoky mtns trails, y'all are killing me! That's one of the things I miss most. 'Favorite spot? Charlie's Bunyon, no doubt.

Hey folks, please don't forget us down here. I love to hear what's going on in my hometown. By the way (remember I am only 30 minutes from "The Swamp" at the University of Florida), how are the Vols looking with the new coaching staff for this year?

Everyone be well.

Pokie: Sandy Whaley and I were at the funeral home for Retha Smith tonight. Where were you? PS. Stood in line with Bob Dalton...He is the identical twin of Mike Dalton (not really). when I saw him, I said hello Coach Dalton and he looked at me and said do you think I'm Mike Dalton? Scary!!!!!!!!!!!!! We had a lovely chat while waiting. Good to see Sandy Whaley. We had a good time in line. Now I'm going back to the message board cause I can't remember what Marshall said. God it's awful to get old!
