Emma Jeanne Freeman Carruth

Bobby Carruth and I married May 24, 1968. After graduating from Ole Miss in 1969, Bobby went to work for Texaco in New Orleans until May, 1974 then we moved to Houston with an Engineering Firm, J. G. Mackins and Associates. With this company we lived in London and Bergen, Norway and returned back to Houston in 1977. We then moved with J. G. Mackin to Lafayette, Louisiana in 1980 and in 1982 Bobby started Engineering Corporation of Louisiana (ECL)there. In 2001 Bobby opened an additional office in Houston which is where we spend most of our time everthough we still have our home in Lafayette as well cause the main office is still Lafayette.

I had a ladies clothing boutique in Lafayette, Carruth's from 1988 til 2000. I was very active in the community there in serving as President of Friends of Music at the University, Acadiana Symphony Womens League, Avec Souci and on the Board of Krewe of Victoria in which Bobby and I were Duke and Dutchess in 1998 and I was Queen Victoria VII in 2000. I did enjoy serving as the Chairperson for the MHS Class of '64 Reunion in 1999 as well.

Since spending more time in Houston I worked at Neiman Marcus from 2006 to 2008 and 2009 until 2013 for Louis Vuitton and loved every minute of it until we bought a lake house in Horseshoe Bay, Texas and totally renovated it. We moved in the end of January 2014 and loving it!!

We enjoy watching our son, Cavan who plays with Lost Bayou Ramblers, a Grammy nominated Cajun Band out of Lafayette when we can. They have a great website - check it out!

We also enjoy watching out daughter, Lori play tennis as she is a very advanced player.

We have a Clumber Spaniel, Hazel who we rescued in Ashville, NC.
