Serra Catholic is Named as a

2014 School of Excellence!

 

 

On September 15, 2014, The Cardinal Newman Society released the list of schools recognized by the Catholic Education Honor Roll as 2014 Schools of  Excellence.  Serra Catholic High School is among the schools being designated on the Honor Roll as a School of Excellence.

In order to be considered for this award, schools must demonstrate the three “Indicators of Excellence,” including:

Institutional Commitment– the school demonstrates in all aspects and associations, a commitment to Catholic principles

Mission-Centered Individuals– when retained, every school leader, administrator, and faculty member is evaluated for a sincere commitment to enhance the Catholic identity of the school

Protecting the Mission– the school develops and maintains programs to ensure the enhancement of the school’s Catholic identity

The entire Serra community shares in the celebration of this recognition.  It is especially a tribute to Serra’s teachers who every day implement the very aspects by which this award is   designated: outstanding education and integration of Catholic identity throughout the curriculum.  Thanks to all who serve to advance the mission of Serra Catholic High School - you are the reason we have been designated as one of the top schools in the nation and why we continue to receive this honor today.

 

 

Serra named to Catholic High School Honor Roll!

On Thursday, September 20, 2012, the Cardinal Newman Society named Serra Catholic High School as a recipient of the Catholic High School Honor Roll. Since 2004, the Honor Roll has recognized excellence in Catholic identity, academics and civic education at Catholic high schools across the United States. The Honor Roll provides a powerful resource to parents and educators by acknowledging those schools that best maintain high academic standards, uphold their Catholic identities, and prepare students to actively engage the world.

Chromebooks at Serra Catholic High School!

Going forward, every Serra student will be issued a Google Chromebook for exclusive use during the school year!  Chromebooks are Google’s version of a laptop which provide direct access to the Internet, amazing Google Education Applications, Google Docs and Gmail, along with educational opportunities including online textbooks, courses, and collaboration tools.  For years to come, Serra students will have wonderful educational opportunities through the use of their Chromebooks.

Locker Room Renovations

Do you remember what the locker rooms looked like when you were a student?  Well, there have been some major changes!  Both the girls and boys locker rooms have been completely renovated.
