Jimmy Don Owen

-Don Owen, age 73, passed away September 1, 2024, in McKinney, Texas. He was born on March 3, 1951, in Teague, Texas, to his loving parents Billy Owen and Neva Nell (McBroom) Owen.

Don met and married the love of his life, Thresa Lynn Watson. Raising their two children, Nicole and Coby, brought them many years of joy and countless cherished memories. Don owned and operated D & D Tractor/Auto Repair in Princeton, Texas for over 40 years. Don was known as an honest, hard-working man. He loved working on his classic cars. He enjoyed going to car shows and cruising the roads with his friends. Don’s greatest joy was spending time with his family. He was known as PaPa and Daddy Don.

Don is survived by his beloved wife of 51 years, Thresa Owen, of Princeton, Texas; daughter, Nicole Gillespie (Ricky); son, Coby Owen (Cinda); grandchildren, Connor Owen, Corbin Gillespie (Jesse), Chesney Gully (Matt), and Kendra Gillespie; great grandchildren, Liam and Eli DeLeon; mother, Neva Owen; brothers, Mike Owen (Rene), and Gary Owen (Pam); numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of other family members and friends who will fondly cherish his memory.

Don was preceded in death by his father, Billy Owen.

A funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 4, 2024, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas, 75013. The service will also be live streamed at the following link: (to be provided). After the service, the recorded live stream will be available for viewing at the same link location. Following the funeral, a procession will make its way to Ridgeview Memorial Park for a committal service.

The family will receive guests during a visitation from 10:00 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, September 4, 2024, at the Funeral Home.

Kay and I attended Jimmy Don's service. It was gratifying to see standing room only attendance at the life celebrtion. Wonderful to know he touched so many lives. Prayers for comfort for his family.

Don's dad and my dad were very good friends for a long, long time.  This just breaks my heart.  I am so glad he was honored by all who love and aprreciated him.
