Cory Fawcett

I can't believe it has been 35 years since we graduated. My oldest son, Brian, graduate from U of O last summer with a degree in Economics. My younger son, Keith, is still studying and majoring in Mobile Design. Where has the time gone. After I left Medford I went to college at Stanford, then to Medical School at Oregon Health Sciences University in Portland on a Naval scholarship, then to general surgery residency in Bakersfield California. I have been a surgeon in Grants Pass since 1993. I met my wife in Medical School and we have been married 26 years now. Each year gets better than the last. The three of us boys got into bicycle racing and a few years ago and all three of us won Oregon's "Best All Around Rider" awards for our age groups in 2009. The next year year we went after the Oregon Cross County Mountain Bike Series. This is a ten race series all over the state. We each won "Series Champion" in our respective divisions. Our team disbanded 2 years ago and when I stopped racing, my middle started to balloon. Go figure? My wife Carolyn and I taught a Financial class for many years called "Crown Ministries," a ten week Bible study on money management. We enjoyed changing peoples financial future through the class. I retired from my medical practice after 20 years at the end of 2013 and began working part time at small rural hospitals to help fill in where they don't have enough surgeons. It has been a very rewarding change of pace. I also began a new business called "Prescription For Financial Success" teaching personal finance and debt management to physicians and should have my first book "The Debt Free Doctor" in print by 2016. I'm looking forward to seeing you all at the reunion and I really enjoy reading about your lives on this web page. If you haven't filled out your page, please do.
