I have been busy since High School:
After graduation I joined the Navy and served as an Equipment Operator in the SeaBees for 4 years active duty and 12 years reserves.
I got married in February of 1985 and I am still married to the same beautiful woman. I have 2 children and 9 grandchildren.
I retired from Professional Firefighting in Boise, ID in November of 2015.
I drove for Beeline Transport, delivering New Campers and Trailers all over the US and Canada. I deliver for Northwood Manufacturing and Outdoors RV, both manufactured in La Grande, OR. It was a great retirement job, I got to golf everywhere and visit every Baseball stadium.
I am currently the Mayor of Haines Oregon, where my wife Jody and I have lived since 2007.
In 2007 My wife Jody and I moved from Meridian, ID to Haines, OR. November of 2010, I was elected Mayor of Haines, OR. (This was as big of a surprise to me as anybody that knew me in high school). In November of 2012 I was re-elected to a second term. I did not run for a third term, two was enough! However, I remained on the City Council, until I was reelected Mayor again in 2022.
I was pretty deep into tournament bass fishing for awhile, but do to the economy, I have found working more to be the better route at this time. We love to ride ATV's and live minutes from the Elkhorn Mountains and Anthony Lakes ski resort, so we get in a fair amount of riding in the mountains.
I am mostly retired now and we spend a fair amount of time golfing, camping, ATVing and when I can I help the local farmers.
Not much of a school story, I was basically invisible. At least it seemed to me that I was. No stories of greatness, just glad I graduated. Like anything else, I wish I had been a little more involved in the extra curricular activities. I did spend a lot of time in the gym and the auto shop. I wasn’t in the popular crowd, but the group that I seemed to hang with, were good people. I got in a few fights, but learned from them and nobody was hurt over it. After I graduated, I hit the ground running and lost contact with almost all my friends from MHS. I am going to do my best to make it either to the 35th reunion (if there is one) or the 40th.
